A woman on TikTok has claimed that her appendix is "missing" after it did not show up on a CT scan. Ciara, who features in the podcast 'Ladies & Tangents' with Jeri, made the revelation and expressed her wonder and disbelief at the doctor who told her that he could not find her appendix after she visited the hospital due to a "tingy" pain on her right side.

Narrating her interaction with the doctor in an amusing manner, Ciara told the podcast's co-host that she'd come to record the show after having been at the hospital that morning. "I've a little bit of tingy pain in my right side, but I thought it was a cyst and Cory was like, 'that's where your appendix is, you need to go get checked out'. And I was like, 'it's not going to be that bad'. But I woke up this morning and it was BAD. So, I thought I'd go to the hospital," she explained.

At the hospital, the doctor thought it was a regular case of appendicitis, informing her that they would do a CT scan and an ultrasound "to check out a bunch of things." Then came the twist. After the test, the doctor returned to inform Ciara that they had "figured some stuff out" but there seemed to be something very strange afoot. She was missing an organ — her appendix.

She recounted the doctor saying, "First of all your appendix didn't show up on the CT scan," to which she reacted, "I was like, 'Where is it?! Why aren't we more concerned about that'?!" While a missing organ would naturally spook a person, the doctor did not seem the least bit concerned, telling her that there was no inflammation for where the appendix should be.

Still, she was surprised why the matter of her missing appendix was being treated so lightly. "I don't like how we're just glossing over that my appendix is missing. I've always had it," she exclaimed, prompting her co-host, Jeri to question, "Is it gone still? Did they ever find it?" Ciara then summarized the doctor's explanation as "He basically said, 'we can't find it so we don't know'."

The cause of her original pain was due to cysts on her ovaries that showed themselves during the ultrasound. "You have a dime-sized one and you have fluid all throughout your pelvic region, which means one just burst," said her doctor, adding, "Funny thing though, the ultrasound technician noticed a spot in your right lung." This came as a sucker punch to Ciara, who explained, "That's a f*****g sentence I never want to hear in my life." Yet again, the doctor treated the matter lightly, remarking, "But your white blood cell count is good so we're not worried."

Ciara's light-hearted narration and easy-going laughter on the events surrounding her health complications prompted TikTok users to comment, "If this isn’t an example of women coping with chronic pain and just powering on through, I don’t know what is," while another added, "YOU are the patient that comes in and we're all thinking 'and she's just ok somehow??'"
