Ramon 'Ray' Gonzalez's life completely changed when he got into a car accident and it resulted in a twisted ankle. Ray revealed that the incident took place in 1998 when he was driving his brother to his mother's house. Ray recalled he noticed a white car coming from the side of his eye, and he turned his car in a bid to avoid it. Unfortunately, the turn left the car rolling, resulting in a leg injury. Ray further added that all the bones in his leg were crushed and the doctors tried to fix as many as they could. While they could fix only a couple of them, they used another technique to help fix the other broken bones.

Even though the bones in his leg were fixed, it did not bring the leg to its original form. Ray revealed his ankle had twisted and he has been having trouble walking. At the same time, the pain on his leg is unbearable as every step causes difficulty for him to walk. He further added, "It is like having a toothache every day." Dr Ebonie Vincent admitted she had never seen anything like that. Calling it one of the most shocking cases, Dr Ebonie knew she had to help Ray soon. Dr Ebonie revealed that the first surgery was not successful for Ray and hence, his leg looked like that. She hinted the reason could be the methods used in the '90s were different.

However, she gave him some hope by stating that another surgery could be informed where they could try to bring the feet back in its position. Dr Ebonie explained Ray would need a femoral bone graft to put the ankle back in place and this will be followed by placing an intramedullary nail, a rod-type tool that helps to keep the shape intact.

While she was quick to explain the procedure, Dr Ebonie warned Ray that there were chances his blood flow could be affected and that would lead to amputation. Even though Ray was not happy about the risks, he knew it was time to change his life. He agreed to do the surgery with whatever risk it brought.

Dr Ebonie assured him they would get to the surgery once the lockdown lifted, and until then, he was advised to take necessary scans.

'My Feet Are Killing Me' airs on Thursdays at 10:30 pm ET on TLC.
