'My Brilliant Friend' Season 2 finale leaves fans feeling immensely emotional and desperate for Season 3

And just like that, the season 2 of HBO's 'My Brilliant Friend' came to an end. Elena Greco aka Lenu (Margherita Mazzucco) returns to Naples after her graduation only to find out that Lila Cerullo (Gaia Girace) has left the neighborhood.
After finding out that her husband was having an affair with Ada Cappuccio (Ulrike Migliaresi), Lila leaves the neighborhood for good and begins working at the salami factory. When Lenu meets her, she delivers the tragic news of the death of their teacher and gives her 'The Blue Fairy' -- the book she wrote as a child.
But Lila, without giving it even another thought, throws it in the fire. The episode highlights the contrast of their lives and does so with sheer brilliance. And loyal fans of the show are of the same opinion.

Lila and Lenu's friendship -- despite the odds of their lives -- is one that remains at the core of Elena Ferrante's book. Even though Lila only had a fleeting appearance in the finale episode, it displays how their connection is one undeterred in the face of their trials and tribulations.
