'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore splits from fiancé after he impegnates another woman
'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore took to Instagram on Thursday, May 21, to reveal that she was no longer engaged to fiancé Chase Severino as he was expecting a child with another woman. She penned the announcement as a lengthy caption to a photo of a black screen after receiving questions from her fans and hearing rumors about their relationship. "Hey y’all. This is a really weird and uncomfortable thing to have to 'announce' on social media, but as I get more questions and hear more rumors, I figured it was time. Chase and I are no longer engaged," she wrote.
She added: "After experiencing a lot of ups and downs and still living apart, Chase reconnected with a woman with whom he has had a long history. Chase recently told me this information and the fact that it had resulted in a pregnancy. Chase will be a father in October. I’m not interested in anything hateful being directed toward anyone. I would ask for privacy for all involved as we move on and focus on the future."
Following her post, Severino also chose to break his silence and address the rumors on his own Instagram page, where he posted a screenshot from his Notes app. "I don't even know where/how to start," the message said. "I am very excited to announce I am expecting a child in the fall. Please see Whitney's post for details. I have nothing but love and respect for Whitney and our time together. Thank you for always supporting us. As we now go our separate ways, I ask for privacy for Whitney, myself, and the mother of my child who wishes to remain anonymous."
Thore previously told People magazine that she was quite excited to embark on a new journey with Severino after he popped the question on October 9, 2019. The sixth season of 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life,' included the entire love story of Thore and Severino, apart from her fitness journey and her business venture, NoBS Active. “Chase and I are so excited to officially announce our engagement and even more excited for My Big Fat Fabulous Life viewers to share this happiness with us,” Thore told the outlet at the time. “We can’t wait to see the new season and watch as we hang out for the first time, go on our first date, fall in love, and make life-changing plans in Paris. It has truly been a dream.”
Thore met Severino through Ryan Andreas, her business partner at NoBS Active. The couple took a trip to Paris with Andreas, and Severino proposed at the Eiffel Tower. “Chase is one of Ryan’s best friends from college, and I’m so into him,” she said in an exclusive preview last year. Thore's previous romantic interest Buddy Bell, formed a significant part of the sixth season of the show as she kissed Bell at the end of the fifth season. Severino struggled to deal with Thore's ex, who was mentioned quite a lot during the sixth season.
“I trust you 100 percent, it’s just that Buddy’s around all the time,” Severino told Thore on the show.
