Muslim groups call for boycott of Nike sneakers because of insulting logo which shows Allah written on its sole
A petition to force the recalling of the sneakers has already managed to collect over 8,500 signatures. This is not the first time that Nike has angered the Muslims with their logo
Nike now finds itself facing severe backlash from the Muslim community around the world for a designing faux pas concerning their Air Max 270 trainers which was released last year and which has been described as "blasphemous."
The shoe features the company's 'Air Max' logo spelled out in a custom, wavy font on the sole and it supposedly bears a close resemblance to how 'Allah' is written in Arabic. A change.org petition which has raised over 8,500 signatures in a few hours has slammed the company for allowing their prophet's name to be "trampled, kicked, and become soiled with mud or even filth."
