MSNBC's Mehdi Hasan clashes with netizens after poll results favor Donald Trump's 'mental sharpness' over Joe Biden
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan found himself engaging in a heated debate with various X users over a post on the latest poll regarding the mental acuity of Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
Trump emerged as the preferred choice in the poll compared to the current POTUS Biden, who has been at the center of much criticism and disapproval over his age and strange public behavior.
However, Hasan faced criticism from some social media users but also received support from others for raising questions about the poll's results.
Mehdi Hasan challenges social media users' opinion on Donald Trump vs Joe Biden
Hasan first reacted to the polls by noting that he was left speechless by Trump's win.
On Sunday, November 5, he tweeted, "Two polls out today from the New York Times and CBS News suggest Americans think Donald Trump is more mentally sharp than Joe Biden and that Trump is more likely to bring peace and stability to the world than Biden."
He continued, "I mean... I have no words..."

I mean... I have no words...
He followed up with another post to address the numerous responses he received from X users.
His tweet read, "The replies tell me that a lot of folks have amnesia, or just want to pretend that Trump didn’t escalate drone strikes, escalate in Yemen, drop the MOAB in Afghanistan, bomb Syria, assassinate Soleimani, and threaten nuclear war with North Korea."
Hasan went on to add, "Some of us keep receipts."

Netizens clash with Mehdi Hasan over new poll

A user, critical of the president, also noted, "That tells you a lot about what everyone thinks about Joe at this point."
One user criticized Hasan's approach to this as they wrote, "Even so that's not at all the point of a poll. A better response might dive into the reasons people think this without dismissing it as "amnesia"."

Some came in to back Hasan, as one user pointed out that these polls had little to no indication of the country's actual stance.
"Hey, if Americans want to embrace corruption and fascism, then we get the government we deserve," their reply said, "But again, let’s look at actual elections and not polls. Tuesday will give us an idea of what’s REALLY happening."

A user also joked that this poll was voted on by only older people as they said, "LOL, we’re the polls taken in a long-term care nursing home?"

Some users came in to attack another network Fox News for allegedly causing the results of this poll.
"Look @mehdirhasan, This proves that propaganda WORKS. Fox News is an ad agency not a news org and they are the most effective propagandists in history," one reply said. Another commented, "The only people they can poll are people with land lines that answer the phone. That’s old people that watch Fox News a day. The polls are wrong."
