Josh Kirk has always looked for ways in which he could make more money for his family and in his latest journey, he decided to try his luck on finding gold. Josh knew that the best place to find gold would be the creeks. However, to make good use of it, he needed a sluice box that would not give up on him. Before starting his journey, Josh built a cart to carry his sluice box to different places. With the help of his horse, Josh knew he would be able to travel to different creeks and look for the area where gold was easily available.

At first, he focused on the smaller creeks and used his sluice box to segregate the sand from the gold. Josh was happy to find pieces of gold that could fetch him somewhere around $2-$20. However, Josh knew he would have to work harder if he wanted to find the gem that would land him a lot of money. In a bid to find the place that would have stored a large amount of gold, Josh thought that the starting point of the creek would be the best place to investigate. However, to reach that point, Josh had to go through a lot of uneven roads that made him wonder if he would be able to reach the spot that he had been hoping to find.

Unfortunately, things got difficult and on the way, Josh's sluice box broke when he hit a bark of the tree. This made Josh waste some time fixing the sluice box, but he feared that it won't be able to work the same way as he did before. While he managed to fix the parts, the box was tested when he started his journey all over again. Within a matter of a few minutes, Josh managed to reach a spot in the creek where he thought he could find gold. He decided to check the spot and was shocked to find that there was a good amount of gold present there.

As he continued to sift through the sand, Josh realized that he finally struck gold. Josh rejoiced as he was convinced that he had finally landed the treasure that he had been looking for.

'Mountain Men' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm ET on History Channel.
