From the promos and sneak peeks of Episode 4 of 'Motherland: Fort Salem', it is clear the upcoming installment will deal with Scylla's (Amalia Holm) secret, as Beltane continues. The previous episode saw Potter (David Lennon), her ex-boyfriend threatening to expose her secret, a mistake that eventually cost him his life. 'A Biddy's Life' ended on a rather dark note with the character's death plunging Raelle Collar (Taylor Hickson) into shock.

Parallelly, the episode also sheds light on Tally Craver's (Jessica Sutton) newfound love interest, Gerit Buttonwood, a male witch (played by Kai Bradbury) and General Alder's (Lyne Rene) biddys. These story threads will almost definitely continue to Episode 4 titled 'Hail Beltane'. The 30-second promo sees Raelle confront Scylla, while the Necros study Porter's body and use spells to see what his last thoughts and actions were.

The clip does suggest that the net is closing in around Scylla, even as Alder and company attempt to figure out the cause of death and don't rule the Spree out as the culprits.

The official synopsis reads: "The base celebrates the rituals of Beltane, during which Tally and Gerit's connection grows, and Abigail finds strength in competition; Raelle is deeply affected by a tragic event and has questions for an evasive Scylla."

With the rituals, we can expect the series to delve deeper into the Wiccan connections. Earlier, in an exclusive interview with MEA World Wide (MEAWW), Taylor Hickson spoke about the show's honest attempt to capturing Wiccan culture in the series.

"We're so proud of our portrayal and the homage paid to Wiccan culture," she said. " It's such a widely misunderstood community. So we're working diligently to break that image of the cackling green witch and share the truth about what they stand for. So it's very much about community growth, healing, coming together, self-care, love, and empowerment. I think the idea of the witch has been so demonized in folklore and media."

She continued: "Even today, in all the shows out there, it's a much more far-fetched approach. We want to take a much more grounded road to witchcraft and its portrayal. So, there's a lot more of incantation, chanting and vocalizations and healing rather than us shooting sparkles out of our fingertips and having green skin and a hooked nose. We wanted it to feel a lot more authentic and believable and also pay tribute to a misunderstood community."

For now, 'Motherland' has managed to keep the audiences glued with a thrilling plotline and hasn't taken a wrong step. The thriller element can be attributed to the fantasy-action series' healthy TV ratings and the positive critical acclaim it has garnered over the course of three episodes. 'Motherland' currently sees a whopping 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and its safe to say that number will continue to stay on.
