Season one recap

'The Letdown' season one is a well-written comedy-drama exploring the trials and ordeals of early motherhood. The Letdown certainly does not shy away from some of the taboo subjects but showcases all the nitty-gritty of motherhood in a lighthearted and amusing way.  The story revolves around a culture-shocked mom Audrey ( Alison Bell) who finds herself in a situation filled with overwhelming experiences two months after she delivers her baby. She is not able to cope with the stress that comes attached to being a mother and joins a mom's support group and begins to bond with the fellow parents who themselves are not perfect in what they do as parents. 'The Letdown' explores the ugly truth behind motherhood with a touch of charm and comedy along the way to keep the series lighthearted and as realistic as possible. The next season deals with parenthood and all the ups and downs that are inevitably a part of it.
