WILSON, NORTH CAROLINA: In a shocking incident, a young mother ended up stabbing her baby in the head with a screwdriver while she was fighting with her boyfriend, police reveal.

The woman in question, Angel Marie Webb, 21, had reportedly tried to lunge at her boyfriend Eusebio Munoz but had missed him and had ended up plunging the screwdriver into her baby who is 2-months-old.

Angel Webb hails from North Carolina and is believed to have struck the baby whose gender has not been revealed by the authorities. The plunge had been very forceful and the baby suffered a skull fracture, Metro reports.

Later on, one of the parents of the baby called 911 and said that their baby was bleeding. According to The Wilson Times, the baby was immediately rushed to the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville and taken to intensive care to receive treatment.

The Wilson County Sheriff's Office shared that deputies had been dispatched to a home on early Wednesday, May 27, after the 911 call. The Chief of Staff Wanda Samuel shared that Eusebio Munoz Jr. had been holding the baby when Angel had tried to stab him using a screwdriver.

Samuel revealed that the Wilson County Department of Social Services has been notified of the incident and is investigating the same along with law enforcement. They have not yet revealed what had triggered the argument that led to the stabbing, The Laurinburg Exchange states.

Webb has been charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon while her boyfriend Munoz Jr has been charged with misdemeanor child abuse. Both have been released from prison on a $5000 secured bond each.

We had earlier reported that a South Carolina couple was arrested and charged over the horrific death of a four-year-old special needs girl found "stuffed in a drawer."

According to WRBL, the incident came to light after police responded to the Gentle Breeze Lane, Rock Hill, home of Jackleen Mullen, 23, and her boyfriend Audrevious Williams, 26, around 11.30 pm on Tuesday, May 26, over concerns about a young girl.

When questioned about the girl, Mullen said that she had been staying with family. Upon a search of the residence, they found the girl dead in the couple's bedroom in a dressing drawer. The child, who was physically handicapped and had special needs, reportedly showed signs of blunt force trauma and respiratory distress.

Mullen had been charged with unlawful conduct towards a child after she gave birth prematurely and later tested positive for cocaine. The child was the same one who was found dead in the drawer.

The couple was charged with homicide by abuse or neglect in the child's death and were denied bond during a hearing on Wednesday, May 27. In court, Mullen was pictured with tears in her eyes. She and her boyfriend were both appointed public defenders and appeared separately. Neither said much and were ordered not to have any contact with their three other young children. The couple could face anywhere between 20 years to life in prison should they be convicted.
