Gladys Yvette Borcela: Mother-of-three shot dead in Uber by Florida woman after nightout spat
A mother-of-three was shot dead by a woman co-passenger in a packed Uber after a night out in Miami on Saturday. Gladys Yvette Borcela, 28, was one of the seven passengers in the Uber along with the accused, 24-year-old Natalia Harrell, when a fierce argument broke out between the two. Harrell ended the argument by reaching for a gun and shooting Borcela dead.
Natalia, a resident of Coconut Grove, was arrested by the police on one count of second-degree murder. WPLG-TV obtained the arrest warrant and gave further details about the crime.

According to surveillance from inside the vehicle, the two women got into a heated argument which started as a verbal spat but eventually got physical. It was then that Natalia reached for the gun in her hand purse.
The driver parked the vehicle nearby at Southeast First Avenue, and everyone except for an injured Borcela got out. The six passengers fled the scene, and Borcela was announced dead when she reached Jackson Memorial Hospital.
A witness was reported as saying that the entire incident started at Clevelander Hotel and Bar, where Harrell was with some friends when she was asked by a male pal if she knew other women who would join them. The women in the group showed Borcela's social profile to the men, and they decided to meet her at The Urban at 1000 NW Second Ave.
When the two women met at The Urban, Borcela started to "drink and dance", and Harrell was visibly upset and she texted the witness to "get her girl under control." The group then sat in the Uber after closing hours, and Borcela and Harrell started calling each other names.
Harrell then sat in the front seat, facing everyone else, and repeatedly said, "You don’t want this; you don’t want me to go in my purse," before she took out her gun and shot Borcela.
The victim's mother set a GoFundMe page for her funeral and wrote a heartfelt note about how difficult things will get for the three children after their mother's death. Many people once again pointed out how guns were a problem after the incident.
Calling her daughter the life of the party, her devastated mother wrote: "This is the most devastating news a mother can receive. My daughter life was taken away from her and she did not deserve this. She was the life of the party and a beautiful soul to be around. She always held her hand out for any one that needed her even when she had battles of her own. She put her 3 beautiful children first and now they have to grow up and only hear of memories of their beautiful mother. I don’t even know how to tell my grand baby’s someone took their mother away from us. Our family is heartbroken and we need help for the funeral arrangements and a little more help with providing for her children. This is a wave that we weren’t prepared for. Please anything is appreciated."
