Who is Yui Inoue? Arizona mother killed son and daughter, 7 and 9, after ‘hearing voices', police say
TEMPE, ARIZONA: A mother has been arrested and charged for allegedly murdering her two young children. As per the Tempe Police Department, the 40-year-old, later identified as Yui Inoue, hours before carrying out the alleged killings told a police officer that she’s “hearing voices telling her to kill” her daughter and son - aged nine and seven respectively.
The police department’s spokesperson, Sgt Steven Carbajal, said that the accused stopped a cop to say the bizarre thing at the department's Apache substation near Broadway Road and McClintock Drive just after seven in the morning on Saturday, May 15. “There was an officer that was heading out of the station just to take care of his normal patrol duties for the day and she seemed pretty frantic and flagged him down,” the spokesperson noted Saturday afternoon.

He added that soon after that police officers rushed to her apartment in Tempe -- nearly 11 miles outside of Phoenix -- and discovered the remains of the young girl and the boy “with obvious signs of physical trauma”.
“It was a very tragic what officers encountered, and we're trying to support the father and our officers right now. Our officers are really struggling,” Carbajal stated.
Inoue was eventually arrested and pressed with two counts of first-degree murder. The department also tweeted, “It is with a very heavy heart that we share that we are investigating a homicide in the 4100 block of S. Mill Ave. Officers located a deceased 9 year old and 7 year old inside the apartment. The mother of the children has been detained and is being interviewed.”

She has been charged with two counts of first degree murder. We grieve for the family and all responders dealing with the emotional trauma of this tragic incident.”

Reports also said that cops had previously gone at around 12:30 am Saturday on a call for a "domestic dispute" between a husband and a wife at the scene where the alleged crime happened, .
Carbajal said cops intervened and split up the pair before checking on the kids, who were okay at that moment. “It didn't seem like there was an immediate threat to the children. Parents, couples, argue and they have disagreements, and they have issues that come up. Officers noted that the children were safe in their beds before they left the apartment,” he mentioned.
The spokesman did not provide further information regarding the murders of the children but said, “What they must have gone through prior to that or during that is something we can't even quantify.” When officers found the bodies of the victims, their father was not home. Later, he was informed about it and he “broke down” after hearing the tragic news. The investigation into the case is in progress.
Meanwhile, people on the internet have expressed their grief over the horrific death of the children. One user tweeted, “I’ll never understand how anyone could ever hurt a child like this. You’re not a mother. You’re a monster and should be prosecuted by the absolute fullest extent of the law.” Another user wrote, “You know how many people would love to have your children and nurture them and take care of them and love on them. The same way you took the kids out that's the way you should go out. People in jail don't like people like you so maybe you'll get a taste of your own medicine.” “That is so horrible being a new father myself could not imagine anything like happening to my little one! That is a shame to have a life ended so young!” a third user added.
