Who is Morris Jones? Man who shot 9 cops later died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound
PHOENIX, ARIZONA: A video was released by Phoenix Police Department's Facebook page on Friday, 11 February, where a man trapped a police officer into a home and shot him multiple times.
The man identified as Morris Richard Jones, 36, lured the officer by lying to him. He told the officer that there was a woman inside the house "choking on her own blood" and shot the policemen continuously. A confrontation took place between the suspect and nine officers who were shot but survived and were later discharged from the hospital.

In the video, Jones asked the officer to go inside the house claiming that there was a woman in the house who have been choking on her own blood.
However, when the officer got closer to the house, Jones shoots him. The confrontation happened between the suspect and Phoenix police and the video was released where the suspect can be heard saying, “She is choking on her own blood bro.”
When the policeman replies to him and asks him who is in the house. The suspect replies, “Just Me” and opens fire on him.
The officer was shot multiple times on his right arm and was unable to return fire as he was badly injured and called for a backup. The injured officer screamed, “I have been shot 999- 999,” on which the video ended.

The suspect later committed suicide after shooting himself. Phoenix police revealed that the officers were either shot or injured by the suspect.
A woman, identified as Shatifa Lobley, was also discovered dead inside the house. According to the investigation, Morris and Shafita were dating each other and had a child together. The one-month-old newborn is safe and now in the custody of the Department of Child Safety.
