Internet 'thanks' Mika Brzezinski for 'calling out' Chris Christie during heated argument on abortion

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former New Jersey governor and GOP candidate Chris Christie, made an appearance on ‘Morning Joe,’ following the third GOP debate which took place in Miami, Florida.

In a heated conversation with Mika Brzezinski, Christie argued on the matter of abortion “in the ninth month,” and how it is permitted in the state of New Jersey and New York among others.

Following an argument on abortion between Brzezinski and Christie on ‘Morning Joe,’ the internet applauded Brzezinski as several reached out to thank her.

‘Morning Joe’ host Mika Brzezinski raised the topic of abortion, which was also discussed in the third GOP debate, “You and I disagree on this issue, but the one thing you keep saying is, you keep talking about abortion in the ninth month, which is allowed in your state.”

Brzezinski continued, “Last time I asked you to bring me a case where a woman walked into a doctor's office in the ninth month and said I've decided to don't want to have a baby please take this out, it doesn't happen. Less than 1% of abortions are performed after 21 weeks and if there is a situation like that it's because there is a massive emergency.”

“So I just think of all the candidates you've been the most honest about Trump and election Integrity but in this one respect I have to call you out because you're not being honest on the issue we can debate abortion but there isn't abortion in the ninth month," added Brzezinski.

Christie’s response was prompt, “Mika you're the one who's not being honest. I did not say there was abortion in the ninth month what I said was that the law in New Jersey and New York and Illinois and California permit it. and you can't deny that that's the truth because it is and so and so look…don't call somebody a liar.”

The former New Jersey governor was visibly agitated as Brzezinski clarified, “I’m not calling you a liar, it’s just not honest.”

After a little kerfuffle between the two, Christie continued, “Well let's have an honest discussion about the issue. Why don't you answer my question…the law permitted in those States well, that's all I said, so I don't understand what your problem is with that. If that's what the law permits, that's what the people who passed those laws said is okay is legally permissible…that’s the point I’m making.”

Brzezinski responded, “You are painting a picture about the issue of abortion that is not honest and this is a health issue for women and there are women who are in extreme situations who need health care and they should get it.

“We can debate that but there are no women in the state of New Jersey trouncing into doctor's offices asking for abortions in the ninth month it doesn't happen,” added Brzezinski.

Christie continued to emphasize that all he did was “state the law” and Brzezinski “mischaracterized” what he said.

The GOP candidate also added, “Don’t mess with me on the law, Mika.”

To that, Brzezinski said, “Don’t mess with me on how women feel about using the ninth-month argument on the issue of abortion.”

Following the conversation between Mika Brzezinski and Chris Christie on ‘Morning Joe,’ the internet rushed to thank Brzezinski and praise her.
