'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough says Donald Trump has 'gone full mobster' after ex-president's 'threat' to prosecutor
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former US President Donald Trump’s latest post on Truth Social, an alternative social media platform, has sparked concern, which was detailed by Joe Scarborough on 'Morning Joe.' Scarborough has also spoken out on Twitter about the same.
On Monday, August 7 Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski talked about the Department of Justice (DOJ) asking for a protective order against Trump. Scarborough has expressed his anger and disappointment against Trump and labeled him a "mobster" following his third indictment.
‘He has gone full mobster’
In relation to Trump’s outrage on social media where he slammed Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosi, and Special Counsel Jack Smith amongst others, Scarborough said, “The silence has been deafening.” He also directly addressed the Republicans, “The silence has been deafening more importantly from the Republicans in the United States Senate, the United States House. The head of their party, the guy most likely to be the nominee has threatened a federal prosecutor and said – I am coming after you.” Scarborough continued, “He has gone full mobster here, and yet no criticism from Republicans in the House, Republicans in the Senate, very little from the Republicans in the campaign.” An outraged Scarborough repeated, “Let me say it again, he has threatened a federal prosecutor, and it seems the only thing Republicans know how to do is fall more meekly and align with him. Just fall in line behind a guy who is behaving like a mobster and threatening a federal prosecutor.
Mika Brzezinski weighs in on Donald Trump's Truth Social posts
Trump’s use of language over the weekend was discussed on ‘Morning Joe’ when Brzezinski calls it, “truly a new low.” Brzezinski then went on to talk about how this is the “most subversive” but before she could finish her statement, Scarborough looked down and corrected her, “Not subversive, submissive.” After Brzezinski corrected herself, she posed some important questions to Chuck Rosenberg, regarding the procedure that can be followed after Trump has openly threatened people with names, for example, his former Vice President, Pence. Although the discussion primarily focussed on the potential next steps in regard to Trump, Scarborough focussed mainly on Trump’s posts on Truth Social.
