NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former US Attorney General, Bill Barr, recently appeared on Fox News, where he claimed that Donald Trump will be "convicted" in a trial that could take place "next summer."

'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough quoted Barr on Twitter from this interview about former President Trump, but it looks like the Internet isn’t too pleased about it.

As per Fox News, now that Trump has been indicted four times, he could spend “a lifetime in prison.” Barr, Scarborough, and others support this notion, for which, they have faced some severe backlash on Twitter.

Joe Scarborough quotes Bill Barr

In his tweet, Joe Scarborough extracted one particular quote from the former Attorney General’s appearance on Fox News.

Scarborough tweeted, “Trump engaged in the case of the documents and outrageous behavior where anyone would be prosecuted. I don’t know of any attorney general who could walk away from it.”

Apart from quoting Barr, Scarborough did not make any additional statement or give his own opinion on this matter, although he has spoken about it several times on ‘Morning Joe’ before.

After this tweet, the Internet reacted negatively, especially with regard to Barr.

Bill Barr and Joe Scarborough face backlash

Some people are convinced that Bill Barr would still vote for Donald Trump, even after making these statements on Fox News.

One Twitter user wrote, “And he still would vote for him,” and another tweeted, “But he will vote for HIM still.”

People have recalled Barr’s history with Trump as one person wrote, “Didn't Barr as Attorney General literally walk away from Trump as he planned January 6th? Or did he more edge away, in case Trump was successful?” and another user labeled Barr “loathsome” as they tweeted, “Loathsome man.”

After this tweet, Joe Scarborough also faced backlash as one person responded, “Joe…the level of cover that you are providing for the Biden family at this point raises some real questions. Are you just being told what to do or is this to make sure that you keep a veil thrown over your past too? What really happened with the woman who died in your office?”

However, ultimately, Barr faced the most backlash, especially from Trump supporters as one wrote, “Barr is a hack! Be on your way! Bitter old has been. TRUMP WILL BEAT THIS!  In end TRUMP WILL WIN!”
