'Morning Joe' details Tommy Tuberville's 'military blockade' amid Israel war, Internet screams 'vote him out'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Katty Kay was joined by Ali Vitali on ‘Morning Joe’ on Monday morning, October 9, to talk about Sen Tommy Tuberville, and his refusal to lift his military blockade despite the Hamas attack, amid the Israeli-Palestine conflict.
As reported by Politico, Tuberville “is not relenting from his monthslong blockade of military nominations over the Biden administration’s abortion policy, even in the face of one of America’s closest allies going to war.”
Kay and Vitali shed more light on Tuberville’s decision, as the senator faces backlash on social media, including X, formerly known as Twitter, and even on MSNBC’s YouTube channel.
‘Morning Joe’ reports on Tommy Tuberville amid Israel conflict
On ‘Morning Joe,’ Katty Kay took over to talk more about Tommy Tuberville.
She said, “Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, however, is standing firm on his monthslong blockade on hundreds of military promotions despite the deadly conflict in Israel. Tuberville’s blockade put a hold on 300 nominees, including top officers who would command forces in the Middle East.”
Kay also asked Ali Vitali, “Is there anyone there on Capitol Hill, presumably on the Senate side, I'm not sure where the leadership would come from, that could put pressure on Senator Tuberville.”
To that, Vitali responded, “Of course, the landscape has changed over the course of the last two to three days, but the pressure has been on the Senator from Alabama.
She continued, "It does feel, at each turn where there is an opportunity for an exit ramp, he doesn't take it and continues to hold his ground here.”
Vitali also added, “From the moment that Tuberville began this blockade and these promotions started piling up, experts and national security officials were clear: this is endangering US national security. That has not changed Tuberville's mind.”
She continued, “It's going to be interesting to see whether or not Israel now being a factor implicates or changes anything in the mind of the Senator.”
According to the report by Politico, some of the delayed promotions include, “The long list of delayed promotions includes Adm Lisa Franchetti, President Joe Biden’s nominee to be the Navy’s top officer, and Gen David Allvin, nominated to lead the Air Force.”
Internet lashes out at Sen Tommy Tuberville over his military blockade
In response to ‘Morning Joe’s report on Sen Tommy Tuberville and the blockade, the internet has showcased its disappointment towards Tuberville.
On X, one person wrote, “These guys carry too much power, just ridiculous.”
“@TTuberville is a small selfish person,” wrote one user, and another said, “He's a traitor.”
On MSNBC’s YouTube channel, under Kathy Kay’s report on Tuberville, one person commented, “This should have NEVER been allowed to happen to begin with. Tuberville needs to be removed from office. Period. This is ridiculous.”
“Tuberville shows just how unpatriotic he and his fellow maga members are and what hypocrites they are,” wrote one person, and another said, “VOTE HIM OUT.”
