A spin-off series is here which has an alleged rumor of starring none other than the infamous, Morgan Freeman. Wondering what is Freeman starring in now? Apparently, there is a spin-off series of the movie, 'Lucy,' by Luc Besson which is being discussed. Although many details aren't revealed by the creators but according to Variety, the series is expected to follow on from the story that ended at the conclusion of the $460 million-grossing movie. However, EuropaCorp and Village Roadshow are partnering to develop and produce the series.

In case you have not watched the movie yet, it is about a woman (Scarlett Johansson) who, after taking a drug that was absorbed into her bloodstream, gains psychokinetic powers and skills. The film was released in July 2014 and became a massive box office success, grossing over $463 million, more than eleven times the budget of $39 million. It received generally positive but also polarized critical reviews. Although praise was given for its themes, visuals, and Johansson's performance, many critics found the plot nonsensical, especially its focus on the ten percent of the brain myth and resulting abilities. It is still unknown if the MCU 'Black Widow' actress, Johansson will star in the spin-off series.

It is not shocking that Freeman would be wanting to go back to this role as he was seen playing one of the main characters Professor Norman, a mentor of 'Lucy'. However, Besson is an amazing French film director, writer, and producer whose best-known work includes 'Leon: The Professional, 'The Fifth Element', 'La Femme Nikita', and 'Valerian' and the 'City of a Thousand Planets'. Regardless the movie starred Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, Choi Min-Sik, and Amr Waked in the 2014's movie. After this news surfaced online it is safe to say fans really didn't have a very welcoming behavior towards the upcoming project. While some say they forgot that the movie existed, others are just excited for Freeman. As of now what it looks like the spin-off series is what is in dire need of Freeman and not the other way around.

A fan said, "I like this movie.. but why." A fan wrote, "Let that man retire in peace!" A fan shared, "Lucy was pretty forgettable and I barely remember the plot. But I like Morgan Freeman tho," while another added, "Series??? Not a good idea tbh." Lastly, a fan tweeted, "What good would this show be with no corporeal Lucy?"
