'Moon Knight' Episode 1 Fan review: 'great to see Marvel progressing stories of superheroes with disability'
Twitter was lavish in praise of Marvel's 'Moon Knight'. The Oscar Isaac-starrer premiered on Disney+ and the first episode opened to rave reviews. The horror-thriller, one of the firsts in the MCU, follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who suffers from blackouts and memories of another life. In the series opener, he discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector.
'Moon Knight' is the fifth live-action show on Disney+ and features a character who has never been seen onscreen. First debuting in 1975, MoonKnight (or his alter-ego Marc Spector) is Marvel's take on Egyptian mythology. In the comics, Spector is a former US Marine turned mercenary who suffers from dissociative identity disorder, partially due to the control Khonshu (the God of the moon) has over him. He takes on several identities, which it appears the show will explore as well.
