Spoilers for 'Mom' Season 8 Episode 6 'Woo-woo Lights And An Onside Kick'

'Mom' is back with more fun and zest, folks. In the upcoming episode, Jill (Jaime Pressly) is trying her best to mend her relationship with Andy (Will Sasso), but things might not go so well on that front, and it's upto the ladies to help her out.

The synopsis for the episode reads, "Bonnie and the ladies indulge Jill when she goes to extremes to get her relationship with Andy back on track." Considering that the title of the episode is 'Woo-woo Lights And An Onside Kick', we might expect some football involved too. Several episodes ago, we saw Jill and Andy take a break, as they're not able to overcome the differences in their relationship. Jill has been heartbroken about the split, and is determined to get him back at any cost.

The last episode of 'Mom', before the winter break, got fans teary-eyed. When Bonnie (Allison Janey) started worrying about Adam (William Fichtner) taking a ski trip, the ghost and/or dream of her departed former lover Alvin (Kevin Pollack) returned to give her some solace.

For all those who need a quick reminder, Alvin re-entered her life in Season 1, just after Christy (Anna Faris) confronted her father. Alvin and Bonnie patched up soon, but their happiness didn't last long, and was shortlived as he suffered a massive heart attack and died in a heartbreaking Season 2 episode.

In Episode 5 of Season 8, Alvin helps Bonnie realize for the first time just how happy she is in her life with Adam and that she has realised that she now has something worth holding on to.

Meanwhile, the future of the show itself is in question. The ratings have dipped ever since Anna Faris's Christy departed the show, and there's much speculation on whether Season 8 is the final one. While there was speculation on whether Christy could be killed off, the showrunners decided to give her a happy ending. Christy decides to go to law school. 'Mom' co-creator Gemma Baker told TVLine that Faris’ departure would not hamper Christy’s happy ending.

“One of the beautiful things about recovery is that quite often people’s lives get bigger and better than they could have imagined,” she said. “And that will be Christy’s experience. We are pretty sure that our audience, many of whom have been rooting for Christy since the pilot, will be happy for her and satisfied by her new path.”

'Mom' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm on CBS.
