'Mom' Season 8 Episode 3 Preview: Will Bonnie jeopardize her relationship with Adam for an old flame?
It's time for another fun episode of 'Mom'. Even without the presence of Anna Faris's Christy, the show is pulling along fairly well, thanks to Allison Janney's Bonnie. In the premiere, a sobbing Bonnie tells Adam that she has just dropped off Christy at the airport. Christy has left for law school and Bonnie is wondering what to do with herself. Season 8 is focussing on Bonnie, and her relationship with her husband Adam, as she might be meeting a new flame that could bring in some complications.
In the upcoming episode, she just might be jeopardising her relationship with Adam. The synopsis read, "Bonnie takes a trip down memory lane when she reconnects with an old flame; Tammy volunteers to remodel the kitchen so it's more accessible to Adam.
Co-creator Gemma Baker had explained to TV Line, "Christy’s absence will have a ripple effect on Bonnie throughout the season. Part of Bonnie’s journey this year will be to figure out what she wants to do now that she’s actually grown up. . . . With all the alone time, [Bonnie and Adam] discover that they actually really like each other. So much so that they try to help another couple achieve their level of happiness to mixed results. Gemma Baker also revealed that Jaime Pressly's Jill and Will Sasso's Andy are experiencing relationship problems at the beginning of Season 8, with Jill wanting to move things forward, while Andy is rather reluctant to do so.
In the earlier episode, Bonnie and Adam struggled to have a happy anniversary. Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy) brought in her new boyfriend called Gary (Kevin Dunn).
Gary didn't have a good impression on impression on Adam and Bonnie as they were forced to spend their anniversary dinner with him. Gary's crude and crass manners almost ruined the couple's anniversary. . His behavior took a turn for the worse when it came to the ladies movies night, where he demanded candy and told everyone to shush. Everyone began to ask Majorie what she saw in him. However, later Gary warmed up to his viewers when he gave an emotional speech about alcoholism.
'Mom' airs on CBS, Thursdays at 9pm.
