‘Modern Family’ Season 11 Episode 9: ‘The Last Christmas’ isn’t all merry for Manny as Luke locks lips with Sherry
Manny may be the most detached character on ‘Modern Family’, after Lily of course, but our dearest old soul is seen struggling to deal with certain emotions concerning his parched love life.
While the previous episodes showed a heartbroken Manny rely on his mother and Jay to overcome his feelings for his former lover Sherri, Episode 9 ‘The Last Christmas’ will saw him at his worst due to one of Luke’s thoughtless acts.
We couldn’t contain our happiness when Manny finally got to experience a real romantic relationship with Sherry. The chemistry between the duo had us wishing for more than just dating, but when Manny acted upon these thoughts, it didn’t go quite so well with Sherry.
Being an overly mature person that he always has been, Manny—without thinking for a split second—went down on the knees to ask for Sherry’s hand in marriage.
For the uninitiated, what followed was a bitter end to their near-perfect relationship as Sherri turned down his proposal.
However, watching Gloria mentor Manny and Sherry’s recording stint with her former lover, we clutched at straws hoping for Christmas to bring a miracle upon their dating life, until Luke thought it was absolutely okay to fool around with Manny’s lady love.
Manny, as it is, has been trying too hard to pull himself together following his split with Sherry. And now, with what Luke has done, ‘The Last Christmas’ will see something worse befall Manny, which has gotten us really concerned.
Throughout season 11, Manny’s life was shown to revolve around winning back Sherry. All this while, we rooted for their re-union, only to see Manny smile whole-heartedly once again, at least during Christmas.
However, from the looks of it, it seems like ‘The Last Christmas’ isn’t going to be all merry for the old soul after all.
