'Mob Wives' star Drita D'Avanzo and her husband arrested on gun and drug charges after police raid home
Former 'Mob Wives' star Drita D'Avanzo and her husband were arrested on a number of gun and drug charges on Thursday after their home was raided by cops. According to Fox News, a New York Police Department spokesman shared that the couple was arrested at around 6 pm, in Staten Island on Thursday. Drita is known for her appearance on VH1's reality TV show 'Mob Wives' from 2011 to 2016.
The NYPD told Fox that the couple was arrested after the authorities executed a search warrant and found that Drita and her husband were in possession of "two loaded firearms, 120 hydrocodone pills, 22 Xanax pills, two partial Xanax pills, a large quantity of marijuana and a scale."
Drita and her husband Lee D'Avanzo were each charged with a number of counts of criminal possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, possession of a weapon, and one count of criminal use of the drug paraphernalia.
Apart from that, the couple was also booked for one count of acting in a manner that was injurious to a child that was under the age of 17. Drita and Lee share two daughters, Aleeya and Gizelle, and who were at home during the time of the arrest, according to ABC7.
Drita and Lee were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday afternoon in Staten Island Criminal Court, the Richmond County District Attorney's office reportedly told Fox.
In 2016, Drita was arrested for punching a woman in a neighborhood in Staten Island following a verbal argument. She was then charged with one count of misdemeanor. The former 'Mob Wives' star was accused of hitting the woman repeatedly causing a cut and swelling on the lips of the alleged victim.
