TAMPA, FLORIDA: Utah Senator Mitt Romney made an appearance on ‘Person to Person’ where he was interviewed by Norah O’Donnell, and questioned about who he “likes” in the Republican field after he briefly spoke about former president Donald Trump.

This particular 40-second segment from a much larger interview was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by conservative host Benny Johnson. In this clip, Senator Romney briefly mentioned GOP candidate and Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

As this clip shared by Johnson gained traction on the social media platform, people labeled Romney’s statement against Ramaswamy an “endorsement” for the Republican candidate.

The clip of Mitt Romney shared by Benny Johnson was captioned, “Mitt Romney says he would vote for Democrats over Vivek and Trump.”

In this clip, Norah O’Donnell asked Romney, “Who do you like in the Republican field?”

To this, Romney responded, “Uh, anybody… I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans…maybe not Vivek…but uh, but the others that are running would be acceptable to me, and I’d be happy to vote for them.”

Romney also added, “I’d be happy to vote for a number of the Democrats, too. I mean, it would be an upgrade from...in my opinion...from Donald Trump and...and perhaps also from Joe Biden.”

Internet turns Mitt Romney's statement into 'endorsement' for Vivek Ramaswamy

After host Benny Johnson shared a clip of Senator Mitt Romney claiming he would vote for virtually “anyone” other than Vivek Ramaswamy, while also mentioning Donald Trump in the same list, the internet was quick to respond.

“A pretty great endorsement for Vivek and Trump,” wrote one user and another said, “Always best to do opposite of what Mitt advocates.”

“Donald Trump and Vivek are the only candidates who break the status quo, and that freaks out the insiders. Wealthy enough they can't be bought, smart enough they can't be controlled,” expressed one user on X.

“Personally, this statement from Romney is an endorsement for Republicans 😂,” joked one user, and another said, “He just made Vivek a lot less suss. If Romney hates him I Like him!”

Internet continued to label Romney’s statement an “endorsement” for Ramaswamy as one user wrote, “Sounds like a Vivek endorsement to me,” and another wrote, “Vivek must be doing well.”
