Mitch McConnell slammed as Fox News' Sean Hannity reports on Senate forcing Joe Biden to refreeze $6B to Iran

Many slammed Mitch McConnell and claimed that 'he needs to go' after his move of attempting to force Joe Biden's hand

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Republicans in the Senate are reportedly working to compel President Joe Biden to refreeze $6 billion in Iranian oil revenue, which the administration unfroze last month in return for the release of unjustly detained US citizens.

According to The Daily Wire, “Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) introduced legislation to block the Iranians from being able to access the $6 billion.”

Following this event, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to give more updates on what McConnell and other senators said.

However, the internet did not respond positively to McConnell’s remarks and brutally slammed him under Hannity’s tweet.

Sean Hannity reports on Mitch McConnell forcing Joe Biden to refreeze $6B

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “McCONNELL: “The civilized world must re-impose serious consequences on the regime that aids and abets murderous evil against innocent Israelis. The United States must lead that effort by our example, and freezing Iranian assets is an important first step."

Hannity’s tweet featured an article from its official website titled, “IRAN-HAMAS LINK 'CRYSTAL CLEAR': McConnell, Senate GOP Move to Refreeze $6 Billion.”

In the article, it was reported that McConnell and other senators are forcing Biden’s hand to refreeze the $6 billion.

Speaking of it, McConnell reportedly said, “The path of resources, training, and lethal weapons from Tehran to terrorists throughout the Middle East is crystal clear. On Saturday, it enabled cold-blooded killers like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad to perpetrate the deadliest day of violence against Jews in decades.”

Meanwhile, the senators wrote, “Your administration claims these funds are only available for humanitarian use, but money is fungible, and there is significant risk they could be used to further efforts by Iran or Hamas against Israel.”

They also said, “Moreover, allowing $6 billion to flow into Iran’s economy, even if the purpose is for humanitarian aid, allows the Iranian regime to reallocate even more funds to supporting terrorism.”

It is reported that the letter is duly signed by Republican Sens. Marsha Blackburn (TN), Sens. Thom Tillis (NC), Steve Daines (MT), Rick Scott (FL), Kevin Cramer (ND), Senate Republican Whip John Thune (SD), James Lankford (OK), Mike Lee (UT), John Cornyn (TX), Bill Cassidy (LA), Lindsey Graham (SC), Katie Britt (AL), Tom Cotton (AR), Pete Ricketts (NE), Mike Braun (IN), Markwayne Mullin (OK), Eric Schmitt (MO), Ted Budd (NC), Marco Rubio (FL) and Roger Marshall (KS).

Internet dubs Mitch McConnell ‘worthless’

Soon after Sean Hannity reported on Mitch McConnell and other Senators forcing Joe Biden’s hand at refreezing $6B to Iran, the internet quickly flooded Fox News anchor’s tweet and trolled McConnell.

One person wrote, “He is so irrelevant now his words just fall flat. I doubt anyone disagrees with me. He needs to go bad.”

Another trolled McConnell, pointing to his remarks, “Let's start with YOU Mitch, and all your buddies!” and one simply said, “Go home retire.”

A fourth called out McConnell, saying, “Did he freeze up before or after he said the word "freezing"?” and another claimed, “McConnell is worthless!”

One more added, “Did Mitch actually say that? That’s a lot of words for a guy that seems to have no clue what’s going on at any give time.”
