Miss Universe 2019: Miss Mexico says pageant is 'not looking for a model' but 'a role model' and the audience approves
Miss Universe 2019 is all set to crown their new winner but before that, the selected contestants have to answer some of the questions for the audience to know them better.
Miss Mexico's Sofía Aragón is already off to a good start as her answer has audiences lauding her already. Unlike the other contestants who were hesitant about answering their questions, Sofia seemed confident about being on stage. She was one of the few who waited to be called out and asked a question. Steve Harvey, who is hosting the show once again, asked her why she was not nervous about the questioning round.
Sofia was quick to say that she speaks for a living and according to her Miss Universe is a platform that is "not looking for a model, it is looking for a role model". She highlighted how it is important to use one's voice for the good.
Undoubtedly, her words inspired many and it acted as a gateway for her to win a place in people's hearts. Many of them took to social media to express how they were charmed by her answer. "Well said #Mexico. Miss Universe is not looking for a model but a role model," one comment read.
Another added, "Mexico just said Miss Universe is “not a model, but a role model” Amazing!!! Very good answer." Meanwhile, another viewer commented that Mexico might have a chance at winning the show with the answer while another highlighted the fact that Mexico has won two titles in the past and both happened to be when the show was held in the US.
Looking at the fan following that Mexico has and how she has won over people with her answer, we can say there is a high probability that she is in the running for the win. However, we will have to wait to find out if it truly happens.
