Miss Universe 2019 winner to wear gorgeous diamond-studded $5-million crown which includes a golden canary diamond weighing 62.83 carats
Miss Universe 2019 is all set to hand the title to another deserving candidate this year and with a new year of the competition, it was time to showcase the new crown. 90 candidates were present along with president Paula Shugart and reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray when the unveiling of the crown took place in the USA.
The "Power of Unity" crown is inspired by nature, strength, beauty, femininity, and unity and is made by jewelry brand Mouawad. The crown is said to be worth $5 million and contains more than 1,770 diamonds including a magnificent centerpiece shield-cut golden canary diamond weighing 62.83 carats.
The crown's design consists of petals, leaves, and vines and together they symbolize how the seven continents come together in order to empower one another, as reported by Rappler. People were quick to comment on how the crown looked and hinted that the crown should be given the right to choose its rightful owner.
"Let the crown choose its owner. All of the ladies joining #MissUniverse deserve it. Positive thought and love from" read one comment. Another wrote, "Phenomenon, Masterpiece, and Timeless." However, there were many who were not big fans of the crown.
"I don’t know but I really don’t like this crown it reminds me of ME Crown which looks so plain with a gem on center. Not queenly at all," read one comment. Another added, "The new crown doesn't scream Miss Universe at all. The design looks so ordinary. I have this feeling that it will not last long. The Mikimoto is still the best crown Miss Universe ever produced after the iconic chandelier crown of 90s. Well, good luck ladies."
The pageant is yet to crown its winner but it looks like people already have a lot of views about the crown itself. However, the winner of the show would do the magic of making people fall in love with the crown.
