Family devastated as 35-yr-old father who was told his throat pain was caused by 'anxiety' dies of cancer
Ryan Greenan, who died of oesophageal cancer, first visited his general practitioner in September 2018 after he experienced problems eating and drinking but was misdiagnosed
A man who struggled to eat food or swallow water was told by medical professionals that his issues could be blamed on anxiety, only for it to emerge a few months later that he ailed from throat cancer. But by the time doctors diagnosed him with the cancer, it was already too late and little could be done to save him.
According to the Daily Mail, 35-year-old father-of-two Ryan Greenan, of Wester Hailes in Edinburgh, first visited his general practitioner in September 2018 after he experienced problems eating or drinking. However, it was dismissively suggested that he suffered from reflux caused by anxiety, with doctors ruling out the possibility of him having cancer because he was allegedly too young for the disease.
