The death of Andrew Tekle Sundberg, who was fatally shot by the members of the SWAT team Aaron Pearson and Zachary Seraphine on July 14, was the second encounter involving Minneapolis police. The first one was the shooting of Amir Locke, which took place on February 2 of this year, when a SWAT team executing an early morning no-knock warrant shot the 22-year-old. Now, reports suggest that Pearson, one of the two snipers in the killing of Sundberg, also called Locke’s killing a ‘good job’.

As per CBS, Pearson, an eight-year veteran of the force, used a key to enter the apartment where Locke hid under a blanket on the couch as he was trying to reach for a handgun when officer Mark Hanneman shot Locke within 10 seconds, which was captured on Pearson's body camera. While Seraphine provided medical care to Locke on the scene. No officers were charged with Locke's death. Minnesota prosecutors said Hanneman's use of deadly force was justified.

Body-camera footage showed Locke sleeping on a couch while holding a gun when the team entered unannounced. As he seemed awake, officials said Locke pointed the gun at the officers and was shot by Hanneman. The shooting sparked widespread protests as Locke’s family questioned the police account of what happened. However, after a review that ended on April 6, Attorney General Keith Ellison and Hennepin County Attorney Michael Freeman, said Hanneman will not face charges because he was justified in firing his weapon.
