'Million Dollar Listing': Josh Altman sells David Gebbia's Gothic-style home for $14M, fans call it 'hideous'

Ex-alum of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' Carlton Elizabeth, starred in this week's episode of 'Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles' on Tuesday, August 18, albeit in a flashback montage wherein she described the mansion she worked so hard on when she was married to David Gebbia, who, along with twin brother, Rich, is looking at selling the said property. Josh Altman was hired for professional expertise in the matter and for his knack for hosting quirky open houses. For this one, he dressed up in a knight's armor to match with the look and feel of the house, which seemed like a good touch.

The house is majestic -- though fans may say otherwise -- and features a cathedral-style great room (when a family room and living room are combined into a high-ceilinged room, which is also next to the kitchen) and quite a thought-out burlesque room, which was Carlton's idea. She even called it 'Mummy Daddy's' playroom. This apart, the mansion boasts of custom wood furniture, which has amazing detailing.

But will that be enough to sell this $16.5 million Gothic-style home? The house is not staged and that could be an issue, as pointed by Josh and his brother, Matt Altman. But the twins are done staging because the furniture never really matches the vibe of the house. But the problem lied elsewhere -- it was the house itself, which most brokers thought was a bit "unique" referring to its castle-y, palatial vibe. However, as always, Josh worked his charm and network to close the deal under $14 million.

Meanwhile, fans couldn't stop talking about how "hideous" the house has looked always. "Haha this was the house that the wicken from BHHW lived in and people couldn’t stand her. And that house is hideous!," a fan commented on the show's Facebook handle.

"#MDLLA #RHOBH Carlton’s creepy to me mansion is for sale. They’re divorced & he’s moving to FL," a user tweeted.

"All these years later Carlton Gebbia’s house still doesn’t sit well with me. #mdlla," another pointed out.

"Whoever buys that house will forever be haunted by Carlton’s spirit.  #RHOBH #MillionDollarListing #MDLLA," a fan commented.
