Dallas Marsh: California man arrested for planning ‘Las Vegas style’ shooting and threatening to kill cops
CHICO, CALIFORNIA: A man from Northern California was detained on suspicion of making threats against police and planning a Las Vegas-style shooting over the weekend. Dallas Marsh, 37, of Oroville, California, was detained inside a Super 8 motel Sunday morning, approximately 8.50 am, September 25 in Chico, as per the press release from the Chico Police Department.
According to the press release, Marsh, who describes himself as a United States Army veteran on Facebook, had been preparing a deadly attack, and police claimed to have found evidence of his plan. He is accused of making "criminal threats to kill specific people, specific law enforcement officers, and was preparing to commit a mass shooting in the "Las Vegas style with a deadline."

Police withheld the precise information regarding Marsh's alleged plans for the attack's timing and location. Just a few days remain until the fifth anniversary of the Las Vegas massacre, and the news of the man's arrest has just been made public.
Sixty-four-year-old Stephen Paddock made his way up to the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017, and took aim at a crowd of concertgoers partying at the Route 91 Harvest music festival nearby. Having stockpiled an arsenal of weapons — he had fourteen AR-15 rifles, eight AR-10 rifles, a bolt-action rifle, and a revolver — as well as other associated equipment, Paddock managed to fire more than 1,100 rounds and killed 58 people, injuring another 858. He was later found dead in the hotel room, and his motives remain a mystery. The shooting is the deadliest mass shooting committed by an individual in the country's history.
It's unclear if Marsh intended to reenact the shooting in Las Vegas on its fifth anniversary. Marsh was allegedly arrested without incident, according to the police, but following his arrest, he allegedly threatened to harm officers and their families. He also allegedly tried to hit an officer with a table during his interview, according to representatives of the Chico Police Department. Marsh had posted a picture of himself holding what appeared to be a semi-automatic rifle just days before his arrest. He wrote in the post, "Fitting for the season. 39 Trick..."
The veteran worked as a commander in the US Army's Delta Force's SOF detachment Delta 1, as per Marsh's believed Facebook page. He now faces charges of criminal threats of death/great bodily injury, threats of violence against peace officers, and battery against a peace officer.
