Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth reportedly had a secret wedding in Malibu
There actually may be a congratulation due to lovebirds Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. The couple who have been engaged for around six years now are believed to have had a secret and very private wedding. 25-year-old Miley Cyrus met 28-year-old Liam Hemsworth in the year 2009 and confirmed that they were dating in the year 2010 when they made their red carpet debut at an Oscars event.
According to Daily Mail, a source told Life&Style magazine that the couple had indeed tied the knot. "They’ve actually done the deed for real this time! Miley and Liam recently had a secret wedding at her Malibu mansion. Neighbors had no clue it was a wedding. Kids were running around everywhere. It was a hippie-style wedding," the insider said. This definitely sounds like the kind of wedding that Miley would want.
It is also reported that her father Billy Ray and mother Trish were both present for their daughter's special day along with her four siblings. Liam's family including his brothers Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth were also believed to have been there. "She wore a white, flowery dress and all her animals were roaming around, it was crazy! The food was vegetarian and organic," the source continued.
When it came to their vows, the source added, "They expressed their love, how they’re each other’s best friend and want to grow old together. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house." The insider also revealed that, instead of inviting someone to perform at their wedding, Miley decided to do the honors herself. She is believed to have done a beautiful rendition of her godmother Dolly Parton's song 'Islands in the Stream'.
Neither Miley nor Liam shared any photos of their rumored special day but this will not be their last opportunity to do so. The couple is believed to have another wedding ceremony planned which will take place in Australia so that more family members from Liam's side can be involved. It is also rumored that Miley has her sights set on having a baby and it has always been her dream to do so.
The pair initially decided to get engaged in the year 2012 but chose to call it off in the year 2013. In September 2013, Miley's representative confirmed that the engagement had been called off. Liam was seen making out with Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez. In December later that same year, Miley opened up to Cosmopolitan about what life post-Liam was.
"This is the best time of my life. I'm not going to look back on it and be like, 'I wish I hadn't been dwelling over a breakup,' you know? Because that's not what God wants my life to be about right now," Miley revealed.
The pair chose to quietly get back together almost three years later and Miley was seen on several occasions wearing her ring. On an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Miley revealed, "It's very weird because this is, like, real jewelry, and most of my jewelry is made out of gummy bears and cotton candy. They don't look that good together because they kind of mix up."
Miley also went on to add, "Sometimes I replace it with an actual unicorn or a Looney Tune, and he's kind of like, "What's going on?" And I'm like, "This isn't really my aesthetic, but I'll wear it because you love me". Miley said that her wedding "has to be perfect" and "has to be like a soundtrack in a movie".
This is not the first time that it was reported the couple secretly married in a private wedding in April 2017. Ever since the couple got back together in the year 2016, rumors that they tied the knot have been rampant.
At the time when the couple announced their engagement, Miley spoke to People and shared, "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam." In the year 2017, in an interview with The Sun, Miley shared that she did not have plans to get married soon. "I don't envision marriage. I'm 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more. "I have too much living to do [before I get married]."
"Three years ago, if you’d asked me if I’d be here, this happy with this man, I’d have been stunned. I’m just riding this out. In some relationships, you lose yourself by being with someone else. Actually, it made me find myself more. I have no idea what the next three years will bring, but if it’s possible to get even happier, I’ll take it," Miley added.
During the same interview, Miley revealed that she and Liam did maintain a private friendship even while they were apart. "I didn’t know [we’d get back together]. I’m so crazy I have no idea. But I had something in my heart, it never felt like it was really over. We kept a great friendship really private. It’s good for people to have that space to grow individually. Otherwise, when you’re with someone from 16 until 24, you grow into the same person," she continued.
