Who is Miles Taylor? Here's why Trump could be lying about the author of the ‘anonymous’ NYT op-ed piece
The cat is out of the bag. On Wednesday, October 27, rumors sparked that the author of the infamous “anonymous” New York Times op-ed will soon be out. Miles Taylor — a former Department of Homeland Security staffer campaigning against President Donald Trump’s re-election — himself confessed he penned down the 2018 article titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration” as well as a 2019 book ‘A Warning’.
Between 2017 and his resignation in April 2019 to take a job at Google, he worked as Chief of Staff to former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Acting Secretary Chad Wolf. A lifelong Republican, he starred in a video for the group Republican Voters Against Trump and began doing public media interviews to condemn Trump. In August, he released a video endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
That month, he also penned a Washington Post op-ed titled “At Homeland Security, I saw firsthand how dangerous Trump is for America,” under his own name, claiming the US is less safe under Trump. After the revelation, he released a public statement saying: “We do not owe the President our silence. We owe him and the American people the truth.”
He added, “Make no mistake: I am a Republican, and I wanted this President to succeed. But too often in times of crisis, Donald Trump has proven he is a man without character, and his personal defects have resulted in leadership failures so significant that they can be measured in lost American lives. I witnessed Trump's inability to do his job over the course of two-and-a-half years inside the Administration. Everyone saw it, though most were hesitant to speak up for fear of reprisals.”
Who is Miles Taylor?
Raised in La Porte, Indiana, Miles Taylor graduated from La Porte High School in 2006 as valedictorian. He received his M Phil in International Relations from Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar and his BA in International Security Studies from Indiana University as a Harry S Truman Scholar and Herman B Wells Scholar. In 2007, while in college, Taylor interned in the office of the Secretary of Defense and the office of Vice President Dick Cheney.
A year later, he worked as a Briefing Book coordinator at the Department of Homeland Security and was the youngest presidential appointee in the George W Bush administration. As a former professional staff member on the Committee on Homeland Security in the US House of Representatives, he advised Committee Chairman Michael McCaul on counterterrorism, foreign policy and other national security matters.
He also served concurrently as the Chairman’s chief speechwriter and the Majority Staff Lead for the bipartisan Congressional “Task Force on Combating Terrorist and Foreign Fighter Travel.”
In 2014, Miles was named a Truman Governance Fellow and Foreign Policy Initiative “Future Leader”. According to his bio, Miles was producing a television documentary on the history of “Page” messengers on Capitol Hill, featuring narration by journalist Cokie Roberts and interviews with prominent former pages, including Microsoft Founder Bill Gates.
So it turns out that the "high level official" that wrote the anonymous New York Times piece two years ago trashing Trump is not a high level official but some mid-level disgruntled worker-bee and a CNN Contributor? What a Clown Show.#MilesTaylor pic.twitter.com/yTyRrIA95N

What did Trump say about him?
Calling him a “disgruntled employee”, Trump tweeted, “Many thousands of people work for our government. With that said, a former DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEE named Miles Taylor, who I do not know (never heard of him), said he left & is on the open arms Fake News circuit. Said to be a real 'stiff'. They will take anyone against us!”
The president also wrote during a campaign trip in Arizona, “Who is Miles Taylor? Said he was ‘anonymous’, but I don’t know him — never even heard of him.” “Just another @nytimes SCAM — he worked in conjunction with them. Also worked for Big Tech’s @Google. Now works for Fake News @CNN. They should fire, shame, and punish everybody associated with this FRAUD on the American people!”
....associated with this FRAUD on the American people!

At the campaign rally, he said, “Anonymous turned out to be a low-level staffer. A sleazebag. He’s never worked in the White House. Anonymous was a nobody, a disgruntled employee who was quickly removed from this job a long time ago for, they tell me, incompetence.” Trump also added: “If you heard about Anonymous, it was like somebody that was right next to me. I thought it might have been Hope Hicks. I thought it might have been Jared [Kushner]… This guy’s a low-level lowlife that I don’t know.”
Soon, however, many photos of them together started floating around. "This is the random guy #milestaylor who Trump doesn't know.. He doesn't exist.. Is there anything we can trust Trump with???" one tweet read and another said, "And don't say 'I take a lot of pictures with everybody' that's the Oval Office, not a set of high school drama club photos #milestaylor #Anonymous."
