Why did Mike break up with Natalie on wedding day? Here's a timeline of '90 Day Fiance' stars' messy relation
Marriage is a commitment built on mutual love, understanding and respect for each other. For the couples of '90 Day Fiance', there seems to be no shortage of love. However, the other two categories are often more than lacking.
For Mike Youngquist and Natalie Mordovtseva, though, all of the above seem to be missing. In Season 7, it was hard to watch Natalie treat Mike so poorly, claiming to not love him, even though they were engaged. But now, in Season 8, Mike proved that two can play that game.

How did the couple meet?
Fans were first introduced to Mike Youngquist from Sequim, Washington and Natalie Mordovtseva from Kyiv, Ukraine in Season 7, when Mike's best friend and his Ukrainian wife had them both be godparents to their child. The pair began talking and bonded instantly and soon were romantically involved. Mike flew to Kyiv and after their first meeting, he was sure she was the one. Although the pair seemed like chalk and cheese — she was a vegetarian and he was not, she was extremely religious while he believed in aliens, she did not like alcohol or approved of him drinking, she wanted children while Mike was wary, seeing that he was under a lot of debt — the list went on. Despite all this, Mike proposed to her during a trip to Paris and the two seemed ready to tie the knot.
Why does Natalie not have her engagement ring?
After the engagement, Natalie's K1 visa got delayed, so Mike ended up traveling to Kyiv. However, the couple's mounting issues resulted in a massive fight where Natalie admitted to not being in love. To make matters worse, she threw her engagement ring in his suitcase, resulting in even more tension between the two. Mike returned to the USA, while their status as a couple was left a mystery. However, when Season 8 was announced, it was clear that they would be back, seeing that Natalie finally got her K1 Visa. On arriving in Sequim, Natalie kept asking for the ring back, seeing that they were to be married and she viewed it as a security blanket of sorts. Unfortunately, Mike was far from ready to hand it over.
Why did Mike call off the wedding?
Right from the start of season 8, it was plain and clear as day that Mike had tapped out of the relationship. The pair bickered over the smallest things — from Natalie kicking his uncle out of their home to critiquing his weight and intelligence to him pointing out that her beauty was only skin deep. Seeing that he chose not to give her her engagement ring back through the entire season, Natalie kept bringing up the topic in every single episode to every person she came across, but he refused to let up.
Mike even kept pushing the topic of a wedding date, refusing to address the issue and pushing it off for as long as he could. While Natalie did her fair share of damage, it was hard to watch her being strung along with each passing episode. They did finally decide on a date and intimate ceremony, only to have Mike call it off on the day of their wedding. To make matter worse, this happened just three days before Natalie's visa could expire. Visibly upset and shaken, Natalie began packing her things and was getting ready to take a flight back to Ukraine.
The decision to call off the wedding came out of the blue, seeing that a day prior, Mike was all aboard. However, the situation for Natalie is more complicated than it seems, seeing that Ukraine shut its borders on account of the pandemic. With nowhere to go and adamant not to be around her now ex-fiance, Natalie decided to fly to Europe and figure it out from there. She even had Tamara, Mike's neighbor, drive her off instead of him. While the decision to end it seems sudden, the couple's relationship has been nothing but red flags, seeing that they couldn't agree on a single thing. With the season drawing to a close, only time will tell what lies ahead for them.
Is there more to this story than meets the eye?
In an odd turn of events, InTouch reported that the pair did tie the knot in April 2020, in Clallam County, Washington, as per online records. Strangely enough, Natalie has cleared all posts of Mike from her Instagram account. Do you think the couple actually tied the knot? Looks like we've to wait and see.
