Mike Pence slammed after CNN’s Kaitlan Collins question ex-VP on Donald Trump calling Hezbollah 'very smart'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During Friday night's episode of CNN's ‘The Source with Kaitlan Collins’, Collins raised questions from former Vice President Mike Pence on Donald Trump calling Hezbollah “very smart.”
This came after the coordinated attack by Hamas, Trump unleashed a series of critical statements. He criticized President Joe Biden, expressed his displeasure towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli defense officials, and praised Hezbollah as being "very smart."
Following this event, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her conversation with ex-VP and his response to ex-POTUS’s critical remarks.
However, Pence’s statement didn’t receive positive feedback from the internet as he was dubbed “pathetic.”

CNN’s moderator Kaitlan Collins took to X and wrote, “Pence responds to Trump: “Hezbollah is not very smart. Hezbollah is evil...During our four years together, I heard him often use flattering terms to speak about authoritarian leaders. I think it's out of place always, but especially now. This is a dire moment.””

In her tweet, she posted a short clip of her conversation with Pence where he addressed Trump's criticism of Netanyahu.
When Collins asked, “Trump also praised the Iran-backed militant group, Hezbollah, as very smart. Do you think he understands the difference between good and evil?”
Pence responded, “Hezbollah is not very smart. Hezbollah is evil. And again, we — We need leaders, in this country — we need leaders, in this country, who will speak in moral terms, in these moments.”
He continued, “I mean, this is — I must tell you, look, during our four years together, I heard him often use flattering terms, to speak about authoritarian leaders. But I think it’s out of place, always, but especially now.”
“This is a dire moment. And we are on the cusp, of literally Israel leaning in, moving in ground forces, and hunting down, and destroying those, who would seek to destroy Israel,” Pence further added.
Former Vice President concluded adding, “And, I think, in this moment, we’ve got to send a clear and unambiguous message that we stand with Israel. And we stand against Hamas, and we stand against Hezbollah, we stand against any who would oppose her.”
Internet calls Mike Pence ‘pathetic’
Soon after Kaitlan Collins shared Mike Pence's response to Trump calling Hezbollah “smart,” the internet quickly flooded the CNN reporter’s comment section and brutally slammed the ex-VP.
One person wrote, “Interviewing Mike Pence is a total waste of prime-time television. He is just pathetic. The former VP should do the American people a favor & retire.”

Another added, “Pence is a coward period!” and one simply called out Pence by asking, “Why does anyone still waste time talking to Pence? He’s irrelevant at this point.”
