Pence backs Trump's 'legal votes' conspiracy after hesitating on election night, gets trolled: 'Do you, though?'
After seeming hesitant to side with President Donald Trump during the election night press conference when the POTUS tried to prematurely declare victory and move the Supreme Court in an effort to stop the vote count that is currently going on across multiple key battleground states that could decide the presidential race, Vice President Mike Pence threw his full-hearted support behind Trump on Thursday, November 5.
"I Stand With President @realDonaldTrump. We must count every LEGAL vote," Pence tweeted after the president held another press conference at the White House following his 36-hour-long silence. Trump continued to assert that he'd win the election saying, "If you count the legal votes, I easily win."

It was a continuation of the unproven voter fraud conspiracy theory that the president has been promoting even since his lead in the swing states that he had turned red back in 2016 started to thin or slip away in this year's election. "Millions of people voted for us tonight. A very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people,” Trump had said in his election night speech.
He then added, “And we won’t stand for it. Frankly, we did win this election." At the time, Pence seemed more skeptical in endorsing his running mate's words. After being invited to speak a few words by Trump, following the latter's supposed inaccuracies-riddled speech, Pence hesitated for a moment before slowly taking the stage.
He then kicked off his speech by carefully declaring that they were on "road to victory", unlike Trump announcing that they were already winners. Pence slowly began apparently contradicting Trump's speech with his own, when he stated that the votes would be continued to be counted, as opposed to Trump who decided on asking the SCOTUS to stop counting the votes.
As a result, he got trolled after openly backing Trump on Twitter on Thursday, November 5. "If you stand with THAT...then you stand for NOTHING," one said, while another commented, "That’s exactly what we are doing, pency #CountEveryVote."
A user wrote, "Soon you will not stand rather you will seat Down....." A user remarked, "Yeah that's all nice and dandy Mike. What I would like you to do is go to the dollar store and get some packing tape, boxes and a truck because it's time to start packing your s*** and get the hell out of the people's house...see ya!" The next pointed out, "But that's not his stance. He wants counting to stop."
A flurry of memes also followed, most of them casting doubts on the fact that Pence meant what he tweeted, especially after appearing hesitant during the earlier press conference. "Do you, though?" one of the memes were captioned while another read, "Where are you hiding, Mike?" One captioned said, "You're parsing words there bubbles...you're trying to cast doubt on a free & fair election...your party has tried non-stop voter suppression, undermining the Post Office, undermining the election even before it started You need Schoolhouse Rock too! The magic number is....270!"
If you stand with THAT...then you stand for NOTHING.

However, not every user contradicted Pence or chose to mock him. One of the Trump supporters wrote, "Mr Vice President, this election has been disgusting to the utmost degree. Blatant, obvious cheating and fraud. If this is allowed, there will never be justice." Another said, "I stand with you and @realDonaldTrump, you both done so much for our country and we need you for four more years"
