Michael Keetley: Florida ice-cream man found guilty of double murder and multiple attempted murders
FALKENBURG ROAD COUNTY, FLORIDA: Michael Keetley is found guilty of double murder and multiple attempted murders by a Florida court on Tuesday, March 28. According to the ruling, Keetley acted as a vigilante seeking revenge as he killed two suspects involved in a robbery that resulted in his permanent disability. Prior to the shocking incident, Keetley worked as an ice-cream man.
The 53-year-old was the victim of the robbery attack which took place on Thanksgiving Day 2010. At present, he is convicted on two counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder. As per prosecutors' claim, and now jurors’ judgment, the defendant put on the garb of law enforcement and forced a group of men to the ground at a house on Ocean Mist Court in Ruskin. He then took out his long gun and shot multiple bullets, racking and then firing again. Keetley killed Juan Guitron, 28 (Magic), and Sergio Guitron, 22, ‘Spider,’ and injured four others in the vicious attack, reports Law&Crime.

'Obsessed with revenge'
Keetley was found guilty on counts of attempted murder, as he shot Daniel Beltran, three times; Gonzalo Guevara, four times; Richard Cantu, and Ramon Galan, both one time. The fifth would-be victim managed to flee the scene without getting a bullet injury. Prosecutor Jennifer Johnson told jurors in Hillsborough County at the beginning of the hearing, “Obsessed with revenge. That’s what this case is about.” The state claims that Keetley was trying exact vengeance after the attack from the people who left him to die after shooting him four times outside his purple ice cream truck.
The attacker faced the group of men sitting in front of the porch of the Ruskin home. Keetley then charged at the men who were playing cards. He then asked the group for someone named 'Creeper'. After that, he lined up everyone up on the ground and demanded to reveal their identity. Juan Guitron was the first to be fatally shot after he protested, reports MEAWW.
Michael Keetley has been in prison since 2010
Keetley had spent 10 years in Falkenburg Road County Jail before standing his first trial in 2020. Since no consensus could be made the second trial began recently. When the decision was read by Judge Christopher C Sabella, who oversaw the case, Keetley was seen sitting with his hand on his head and shaking his head in dejection. Apparently, after considering the case for three days jurors made their decision, and the sentencing will be done on May 26.
