In an interview with Town & Country published on Thursday, November 2, Fox said he has accepted his fate and does not fear dying.
“One day I’ll run out of gas,” he said. “One day I’ll just say, ‘It’s not going to happen. I’m not going out today.’ If that comes, I’ll allow myself that.”

However, Fox admitted that he is scared of “anything that would put my family in jeopardy.”
He described scenarios where he could stumble into his wife, Tracy Pollan, or one of his four children on the street, causing them to get hit by a bus.
He said he has nightmares about such an accident occurring because of his condition. Fox has been married to Pollan since 1988 and they have four children: Sam, Aquinnah, Schuyler, and Esme.

Fox also revealed that he has faced a series of health challenges in recent years, apart from his Parkinson’s disease.
He said he had broken his arm and shoulder, smashed his orbital bone and cheek, and broken his hand.
“My hand got infected and then I almost lost it,” he said. “It was a tsunami of misfortune.”
He has previously shared that he had a spinal tumor in 2018 that threatened to paralyze him, but he underwent surgery and had to undergo physical therapy to recover.
However, he broke his other arm shortly after, when he tripped in his apartment.
Fox’s struggles and achievements are documented in his 2020 book, 'No Time Like the Future', and his documentary, 'Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie', released in May.
In an interview in May with CBS he said referring to Parkinson's, “It sucks, having Parkinson’s. It’s getting tougher, it’s getting harder, every day you suffer but that’s the way it is.”
He added, “All these subtle ways that get you, you don’t die from Parkinson’s, you die with (the condition). I’m not going to be 80. I won’t be 80.”
