Fan castings for popular characters have been around for as long as there have been movies about them, and of late, fans want to be seeing a lot more of Michael B Jordan. He's been rumored to be attached to a number of projects, most recently, as a young Morpheus in the upcoming 'Matrix 4' film. In an interview with MTV, Jordan responded to the rumor, as well as talking about the other rumors for roles he might or might not be doing.

"Honestly, I've been rumored to play Morpheus, to Superman, to Duck Tales reboot, to Power Ranges, and everything in between," Jordan joked. "So it's like, I'm kinda used to the rumors I'm playing something, but anything that I do dive in to has gotta be done the right way."

Jordan has previously mentioned interest in playing Superman though not the one we know. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Jordan spoke of his interest in playing Calvin Ellis, the black Superman of Earth-23, a world in which nearly all members of the Justice League are also black. Calvin Ellis maintains a secret identity not as a mild-mannered reporter, but as the President of America. Jordan is a huge fan of the comics himself and has maintained that any role he does would want to be something that was true to the fans, and the nature of the character.

"It has to be full of authenticity. I'm a fan of comic books, you know? I understand, you know, the fans being upset at 'Oh, no why are they doing this and why are they changing that?' I would feel the same way about certain things. So just know if I ever were to dabble in anything, it would be authentic and something that I feel like people would really support," said Jordan.

Jordan has already played a character that underwent a big change from the comics, in the role of Johnny Storm in 2015's 'Fantastic Four', whose comic book counterpart is white.

Michael B Jordan's next big role is on 'Just Mercy,' releasing in cinemas on January 17.
