'Bride and Prejudice' star Micah Downey dies at 26, reveals 'heavily pregnant' ex-fiancee Milly Jonhson
The American star of the Australian reality show 'Bride and Prejudice', Micah Downey, died at the age of 26. This was revealed by his ex-fiancee Milly Johnson, who is currently pregnant with Downey's second child.
Taking to Instagram on December 31, Johnson, 23, shared the sad news of Downey's passing that happened over the past weekend on December 28.
“It is so sad & unbelievably surreal that I am making this post,” read the caption for Johnson's post, that she shared alongside a photo of Downey with a guitar in the midst of what seems like lush woods surrounding the patio he's perched on.
“I am struggling to put into words how sad & heartbreaking this is. I just hope he is at peace wherever he is & that he will always be watching over his babies.” Johnson concluded her post writing: "A bad, bad dream. I can’t believe you’re not here. Rest In Peace Micah.”
As of now, Downey's cause of death is undisclosed. According to Seven News, the hit Australian reality show — as the name suggests — followed the then engaged couple as they navigated the rife issue of persuading Johnson's mother into approving and supporting the couple's relationship. Sadly, back in November, Johnson spilled the heartbreaking news to the reality couple's fans that she and Downey have decided to go their separate ways. It was revealed that the couple had broken up shortly before their wedding, which was due the same month.
“Leading up to the decision I made, I felt sick, heartache, deep sadness and then I just felt numb,” Johnson had shared in her post announcing the split. “Breaking up with someone is awful and also a very private moment. In our case it was done with many eyes on us on national television. Not easy.”
She went on to add: “We had been on and off for some time. I loved him. He is the father to my son and baby on the way. It was such a hard decision to make not only breaking off the wedding but also breaking up with Micah for the last time. Everything I hoped and dreamed for just came crushing down."
Daily Mail Online reports that the ex couple's first child is a young son, Julian, who appears quite a lot on Johnson's Instagram account. Back in November, Johnson had also revealed to her fans and followers that she was "heavily pregnant" with the couple's second child despite having called off the wedding.
