What happened to Melanie Stephanie Rios Camacho?

The mother of the missing teenager in Firebaugh, California, alerted authorities on Friday evening, November 24, that Camacho failed to return home, reports Law and Crime.

Earlier that night, Camacho had called her mother to inform her that she was headed to a "friend's" house after work.

The mother who was worried after she did not return home then tried to locate Camacho's cellphone and tried contacting her. However, she was unable to reach her daughter or trace her phone's location.

Alarmingly, Camacho missed her morning shift at AutoZone on Saturday, November 25, raising additional concerns.

Further investigation into the young girl's disappearance revealed that Camacho had been more specific about her plans with coworkers and another friend as she told them she was meeting her "ex-boyfriend" after work. The identity of her ex-boyfriend has not been disclosed.

On Saturday, November 25, Camacho's white 2014 Nissan Altima was discovered near a farm situated near Avenue 14 and Road 8 in Madera. The car which was abandoned was on fire when authorities responded to the scene.
