Melania Trump trolled for her drug addiction PSA, Internet asks if this is a 'perfume ad'
First Lady Melania Trump was once again at the center of controversy after she shared a PSA or public service announcement for National Substance Abuse Prevention Month. Throughout October, Melania promised to share "inspirational stories of youth… being their best by being drug-free". The social media post was made two days after her husband, President Donald Trump, viciously mocked Joe Biden's son Hunter for his struggles with substance abuse, at the first presidential debate.
In an awkward pose, staring directly at the camera, the first lady explains the importance of teaching young people about the dangers of drug use through her Be Best initiative. "In my time as first lady, I have worked to raise awareness about the risks and dangers of drug use among our youth through my ‘Be Best’ initiative," Melania said in the pre-recorded video. "It’s important that we support our next generation and teach them about the dangers of drug use." Jim Carroll, the White House director of drug control policy, also appeared in the video and praised the president’s commitment to "ending the drug epidemic in the United States". "As President Trump's principal adviser on drug policy, I have seen first-hand how dedicated our country’s first family is to substance use prevention, in our communities, our families, and especially among our children," Carroll said.
Melania posted the video on Twitter with the caption, "This October I am honoring National Substance Use Prevention Month by joining @ONDCP to highlight the dedicated efforts of our Nation's youth to encourage healthy drug-free lives. Share how you are helping your community using #BeDrugFree — we look forward to hearing from you!"

And in no time, people started slamming Melania for all the things that didn't look right in the video, as one Internet user wrote, "Why are you speaking like you're in a perfume commercial? This is a life and death issue. Maybe talk to your husband about substance abuse or talk to our next POTUS, @JoeBiden about how his son courageously fought it. #BeBest, k?" While another one wrote, "What is with the camera angle? Perfume ad or drug prevention? All the same apparently."

Another Netizen attacked her by saying, "Nothing emptier than sending this message just after Donald Trump and Donald Trump Junior mocked Hunter Biden for his addiction struggles." Some called it a "bizarre" ad and wrote, "Bizarre ad by the most useless and vapid First Lady in U.S. history. First, the substance: the ad comes just hours after her husband and stepson mock Joe Biden's son for being a recovering drug addict. Second: her physical presentation. Does she think this is a modeling shoot?"

Another Twitterati said that it looks like she is selling a "necklace" as he wrote, "if you watch with sound off and don't read tweet, she looks like she's either acting on a soap opera or selling a necklace that is on sale but only for next 20 minutes call now." And another one claimed, "This PSA is so representative of the Trump family: attempt at style, absolutely no substance."
