Melania's Rose Garden under repair just weeks after unveiling, Internet calls it 'typical Trump-style construction'
The First Lady Melania Trump's recently renovated Rose Garden at the White House is already undergoing repairs only three weeks after the renovation was done. It is said that Melania's garden has been experiencing "issues with water drainage" and "some minor complications with updated construction," a source shared with CNN. Melania had unveiled her renovations to the White House Rose Garden on August 22.
Melania had been working on the project for a couple of months. The renovations and garden had been paid for via private donations with Melania taking back the garden to its roots, honoring the design of Bunny Mellon. The fact that the newly renovated garden is already undergoing repairs has not sat well with many social media users.
Many Twitter users took to the comments section to express their views about the recent repairs. One such user shared, "How many millions did that horrible renovation cost US taxpayers and now three weeks later it needs repair? Why do I think costs were inflated and the Trumps skimmed off the top. This appears to be a typical Trump-style construction."

Another user commented, "This was done, ruined, for optics only. Everything the trumps touch turn into a disaster. Wondering if the tennis court is still there or if that was another disaster created by FLOTUS," and a third wrote, "The Trump campaign is paying for repairs and replacing sod, etc. in Melania’s ruinous Rose Garden remodel. Why would the campaign pay for that? No wonder they blew thru their Billion $’s already. Wonder what other Trump or WH expenses the campaign paid for (legal fees, we know)?"

"How nice for the King and Queen of America and so appropriate, fiscally & otherwise, for this to take place less than 2 months before election," commented another user. A Twitter user who echoed the same sentiments commented, "This renovation cost you and me 60 million dollars. How did slate get damaged in 3 weeks? What was placed in the ground that they were covering? What optics got fried and why? #VoteForBidenHarris #TimeForTheTrumpsToGo."

Melania and President Donald Trump had hosted a private reception for donors whose names have not been publicly released in the new Rose Garden. Melania had spoken at the reception and said, "Gardens are symbols of growth and hope. We celebrate this garden in the hope that future generations will not only enjoy – but also draw inspiration and strength – from this space where so much of our history has been shared."
The FLOTUS had come under fire for her decision to remove crab apple trees which had originally been placed there during Kennedy's time. Officials say that this decision had been made because the trees were making too much shade for other plants to grow well in the garden. The garden had been closed for around five weeks during the renovations and is one of POTUS's favorite places to hold press conferences. The First Lady's office had revealed that the garden was designed with the presidency in mind. It is reported that white is the dominant theme of the new space.
