Melania Trump hasn't met or called Jill Biden as she takes husband's lead, Internet says 'how despicable is this'
Melania Trump has not yet called Jill Biden and seems to be following in her husband's footsteps about how to deal with her successor. POTUS Donald Trump has not yet conceded to President-elect Joe Biden and has made unsubstantiated claims about voter fraud without producing any evidence to back up the claims. He has also filed lawsuits in several states where he believes he has been wronged.
It is believed that Biden's wife Jill is currently working on building up her staff and setting her agenda as to-be first lady of the United States which will include education, veterans, and cancer. Dr Biden's spokesperson Michael LaRosa spoke to Daily Mail and said, "Dr Biden is enormously grateful to the country for electing her husband and Senator Harris."
"Joe Biden will be a president for all Americans. She is spending time with her children and grandchildren in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr Biden is focused on building her team and developing her priorities focused on education, military families and veterans, and cancer," LaRosa added. Jill Biden revealed that she would like to balance her duties as the first lady along with her job as a teacher in a rare move which has a presidential spouse holding a job outside the White House.
Many social media users commented on the news of Melania's refusing to offer meeting Jill Biden and slammed her while supporting Jill. One such user shared, "I think Jill has the whole FLOTUS thing down, though. I doubt Melania has anything to tell her that she doesn't know better." Another added, "Like Jill really needs Melania to tell her about the WH... Jill has already BEEN THERE. Anything else she needs to know, Michelle can tell her." Yet another commented, "How despicable is this. Does she not remember the Obamas inviting them, welcoming them? Classless. No grace. No anything."

Unlike the Trumps, former POTUS Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama had extended a warm welcome after Donald Trump was elected president four years ago in 2016. Even though Trump had made many questionable comments about Obama and whether he was born in the United States, the Obamas hosted Trump and Melania on November 10, 2016, only two days after Trump won the White House.
While the men chatted in the West Wing, the two women had tea in the residence with Michelle even giving Melania a tour of the first family's living quarters. She took her along to go and see the Truman Balcony. The then-White House press secretary Josh Earnest said that the ladies had discussed "raising kids at the White House, and you know, obviously the first lady's two daughters spent the formative years of their childhood at the White House and Mrs Trump's son will also spend some important years of his childhood here at the White House."
When Obama won the White House, Malia Obama was just 10 years old and Sasha was 7 years old. Barron Trump was also just 10 years of age when his father Donald Trump was elected. At the time, Earnest had pointed out, "That's a rather unique childhood, and the two women had an opportunity to talk about that experience and being a good parent through that experience."
In 2018, Michelle Obama had given an interview where she said she had told Melania to call her anytime after noting how Laura Bush had extended the same offer to her, something she had been grateful for. During an interview with ABC News, Michelle was asked, "Has she reached out to you and asked for any help?" to which she responded saying, "No, no she hasn't."
In response, Melania's team had said that when the first lady needed advice, she had her own experts to speak with. At the time the then-East Wing spokesperson Stephanie Grisham said, "Mrs Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as First Lady in her own way. When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House."
