Keeping true to traditions that dictate women wear white between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Melania Trump donned a $3,500 white double-breasted wool coat from Gucci as she joined her husband, President Donald Trump, at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on Monday, May 25, to pay respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The first lady chose to wear an all-white ensemble marking the white of the American flag on the occasion, bringing on an attitude of calm and stoicism to the program. Perfectly manicured nails and dark smoky eyes finished off her look. She seemed to be dressed for chilly weather, with the white coat — which had gold-colored buttons running from top to bottom — despite temperatures outside hitting mid-60s in the morning.

She watched as the POTUS participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the cemetery in honor of the US military personnel who lost their lives. The ceremony was also attended by Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen Pence, Defense Secretary Mark Esper, his wife Leah Esper, Treasury Secretary of State Steve Mnuchin and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley and other top military officials. After the ceremony ended, the first couple was seen walking hand-in-hand to Marine One. At one point, the president placed his hand on his wife's back to guide her towards the plane.

The last time Melania donned a white Gucci coat was back in January where she chose a $3,980 belted wool one from the premium designer's Pre-Fall 2019 collection to speak at the Governors' Spouses' luncheon held in the Blue Room of the White House. Another white Gucci outfit she was seen wearing was again a $3,980 coat with blue collar and wrists, to welcome Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda into the White House in September 2018.

The Trumps hosted a special commencement ceremony at the White House for 20 high-achieving graduates from high schools, colleges, and universities across the country on Friday, May 22. Due to the pandemic, all attendees were required to take a coronavirus test before being admitted into the East Room, where they sat spaced out from each other. In a video shared by the White House, Melania was seen making a speech, urging the students not to lose sight of their dreams amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

"You, our next generation, already possess the strength and resilience of the American spirit," she said, remarking on their ability to adapt to changing circumstances while completing their studies. "My hope for each of you is that you will always focus on what you want in life. You will be overwhelmed sometimes and there will be bumps in the road ahead, but continue to strive for greatness. Believe in yourself and don't ever give up."

The FLOTUS also shared photos of the graduation on her own Twitter page, writing, "Graduation is a pivotal moment for students of all education levels. @POTUS & I were proud to recognize & celebrate the class of 2020 with a few graduates at the @WhiteHouse yesterday. Keep chasing your dreams & striving to be your best self!"
