What with the Arctic blast sweeping the nation, first lady Melania Trump battled the freezing cold temperatures in Washington D.C. by donning an oversized grey coat as she joined her husband on the South Lawn of the White House on Tuesday, November 12, after attending the Veterans Day Parade in Madison Square Park, in New York.

Although the first lady is known for her figure-hugging dresses, which usually accentuate her slender frame, on this occasion, she chose comfort over making a style statement as she wore a grey and black speckled jacket, which was a little too big for her size. The garment had two black buttons down each side, which were left unbuttoned.

However, it does not mean that the 49-year-old mother-of-one did not try to look her best. She paired up the coat with a chic high neck long-sleeved black top and a pair of black skinny jeans. She also chose to ditch her high heels, instead of opting for black leather boots. Her look was completed with a smokey eye with light pink lipgloss and a slick of bronzer.

She stepped out of the chopper wearing a pair of oversized sunglasses, while her brown blow-dried hair fluttered in the wind. When the oversized coat did not do good enough of a job to keep the chill away from Melania, she physically held it closed as she walked against the direction of the blowing wind.

Melania had joined President Donald Trump for a quick trip to New York with Trump where they paid their respects on Veterans Day. The couple was seen walking back toward the White House across the iconic grounds.

For the trip, the POTUS stuck to his signature look of a black suit with a white shirt and red tie.

At the parade, the First Lady was seen braving the November cold as she donned a black coat dress with large gold buttons down the front, which left her toned legs bare.
