Fake Melania: Coronation Street's Gail Platt photoshopped on FLOTUS' face as Twitter pushes body double theory
After images of President Donald Trump and Melania Trump boarding the Marine One at the White House went viral over the weekend, with the hashtag "FakeMelania" trending as a number of Twitter users claimed the woman in the photos was not the FLOTUS but a lookalike, one of the popular theories circulating online was that the woman looked like 'Coronation Street' character Gail Platt who is played by actress Helen Worth.
Among the bizarre theories the surfaced regarding the unproven claim of Melania using a body double, a few joked that the woman in the snaps was Weatherfield's Gail Platt. A few of them even superimposed her head on some snaps that circulated on the social networking site.
"Make America Gail again," one of them wrote, while another said, "I don’t think even Gail Platt would put up with Trump." "This is not Melania," another tweeted. A fourth remarked, "Anything involving gail platt will never not be funny." One user opined, "The one where Gail Platt enters the race." "Looks like that bird off Corrie...Gail Platt i think her name is!!" another tweeted. Next said, "Looks like that bird off Corrie...Gail Platt i think her name is!!"

The latest images showed the President with his wife departing from the White House for Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday, October 22. We previously reported that In the photos, Trump can be seen waving at the onlookers, while Melania stood beside him flashing a big rare smile. Since the 50-year-old beauty has often made headlines for looking "not so happy" around the president, Twitterati alleged that it was a "fake Melania" who had been clicked in those photos. The bizarre speculations made on the Internet claim that Trump had hired an actress because his wife refused to accompany him on the campaign trail which brought him to Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Wisconsin and Maryland.
Another popular conspiracy theory was that Melania was really counselor to the president, Hope Hicks. One of the people tweeted, "Not Melania’s nose. Not Melania’s gums. (And walking to chopper, it’s not Melania allowing Trump to touch her. Didn’t you see her pull away from him at debate?) I suggest it’s Hope Hicks," read a tweet. Another wrote, "This is absolutely Hope Hicks! Has anyone noticed her gradual hair & makeup transformation? He's got a thing for her & probably paying her well! New Photo Reignites Melania Trump Body Double Conspiracy Theory."

New Photo Reignites Melania Trump Body Double Conspiracy Theory: https://t.co/soMoqxVq7C
Rumors about a lookalike standing in for Melania at public events have circulated on social media for several years. In 2019, a picture of the couple at a memorial for tornado victims in Alabama also created a buzz as Twitter users suggested Melania looked different in the image. The POTUS even addressed the conspiracy theory last year, choosing to put the blame on journalists for doctoring images. He tweeted: “The Fake News photoshopped pictures of Melania, then propelled conspiracy theories that it’s actually not her by my side in Alabama and other places.. They are only getting more deranged with time!”
