Melania forgets to wish Trump on 74th birthday but remembers to tweet about Army's 245th anniversary
Did it simply skip Melania Trump's mind that her husband turned a year older on June 14 or was it a deliberate show of defiance from her part? We will never know but while the rest of his family members wished President Donald Trump a happy 74th birthday, the first lady chose to commemorate the 245th anniversary of the US Army.
Even as the POTUS spent his birthday at his New Jersey golf course alongside daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner, only one post was up on Melania's social media page — a retweet of a post celebrating the US Army recognizing 245 years of service to the nation. "Today, we recognize 245 years of bravery, commitment, skill, and answering the call to serve. We are America's Army. #ArmyBday #ServeWithHonor," the post said. She was also not seen anywhere near her husband as he took time off to play his favorite sport out on the course.
Meanwhile, all of the president's children, barring his youngest son, Barron, 14, who doesn't have a social media account, wished Trump on his birthday. Trump's eldest daughter Ivanka tweeted a picture of herself as a child sitting on her father's knee with the caption: "Happy birthday @realdonaldtrump! Love you!" She also shared a series of photos of her dad with his grandchildren and Kushner. His eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, wrote, "Happy birthday...we love you," while sharing some snaps featuring his dad with his children and some with his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle. Eric Trump said, "We love you very much," while Trump's youngest daughter Tiffany said, "Happy Birthday Dad! @realdonaldtrump I’m so grateful for your love and guidance. I love you!"
Melania's lack of acknowledgment of her husband's birthday comes after reports came out of a new bombshell book on the FLOTUS all set to confirm the long-floating rumor that she stayed back for six months following Trump's presidential win in 2016 to renegotiate her prenup with her husband. "The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump," which is due for release on June 16, by Washington Post author Mary Jordan, claims that Melania was perturbed by one sensational headline after another in the months leading up to her husband's presidential inauguration, and therefore resisted immediately moving to Washington, D.C.
After eyebrows were raised about what the distance between the first couple meant, Melania pointed to her son Barron's schooling in New York City. However, over the period of time the FLOTUS brushed off as "taking care of Barron," she was apparently on a mission to secure a better future for her son. "Jordan reveals in a new book that the first lady was also using her delayed arrival to the White House as leverage for renegotiating her prenuptial agreement with President Trump," per The Washington Post.
Apparently, she got what she wanted — for Barron to be treated equally with his much older siblings Don Jr, Ivanka, Eric, and Tiffany — Trump's children from his previous two marriages. The first lady moved to the White House with her son in June 2017. According to Jordan's book as described by the Post, her mood had considerably improved by the middle of the following year because "Melania had finally renegotiated the prenup to her liking," sources claimed. "She wanted proof in writing that when it came to financial opportunities and inheritance, Barron would be treated as more of an equal to Trump’s oldest three children."
Jordan added in the book: "According to three people close to Trump, a key reason was that she had finally reached a new and significantly improved financial agreement with Trump, which had left her in a noticeably better financial position. Those sources did not know precisely what she sought, but it was not simply more money." Although the details of the prenup were never made public, Jordan speculated that it included financial opportunities and inheritance for her son and even his possible involvement in the family business, the Trump Organization, in the future.
