Mehdi Hasan slams Donald Trump as he attacks MSNBC for 'Country Threatening Treason'

Trump threatens to closely 'scrutinize' MSNBC's working for favoring the Democratic party

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump has once again taken to social media to attack the media, this time targeting MSNBC. This time, his post on Truth Social gained much attention as he threatened to closely "scrutinize" their workings for favoring the Democrat party. 

This provoked Mehdi Hasan to take to X, formerly Twitter, to call out Trump on his stance against the NBC network.

Donald Trump calls NBC 'dishonest' and 'corrupt'

Trump has been severely critical of media that has been opposed to him. It is publicly known that most of his friendships reside at Fox News, where majority of the hosts are conservatives and often, if not always, speak in favor of the former president. 

Trump's post specifically targeted MSNBC, as he went on a furious rant with claims about their biased coverage. 

"They are almost all dishonest and corrupt, but Comcast, with its one-side and vicious coverage by NBC NEWS, and in particular MSNBC, often and correctly referred to as MSDNC (Democrat National Committee!), should be investigated for its “Country Threatening Treason.”" he wrote on Truth Social.

"Their endless coverage of the now fully debunked SCAM known as Russia, Russia, Russia, and much else, is one big Campaign Contribution to the Radical Left Democrat Party," he added.

Trump also went on to threaten the freedom of the network in case he wins the 2024 Presidential Election. 

"I say up front, openly, and proudly, that when I WIN the Presidency of the United States, they and others of the LameStream Media will be thoroughly scrutinized for their knowingly dishonest and corrupt coverage of people, things, and events," he said.

"Why should NBC, or any other of the corrupt & dishonest media companies, be entitled to use the very valuable Airwaves of the USA, FREE? They are a true threat to Democracy and are, in fact, THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! The Fake News Media should pay a big price for what they have done to our once great Country!" he added.

Mehdi Hasan questions Donald Trump's attack on MSNBC

MSNBC host Hasan addressed Trump's recent post. As this is usually how Trump attacks media, Hasan suggested the hypothetical idea of Democrat leader Joe Biden and Kamala Harris similarly attacking Fox News. 

"Imagine, just imagine, if Joe Biden or Kamala Harris said even 1% of this about Fox ‘News’. Imagine the coverage not just from Fox and the right but from our ‘liberal’ mainstream media, too."
