Why is Megyn Kelly looking forward to moderating fourth GOP debate?

Kelly announced on her latest podcast episode that she will be one of the moderators in the fourth GOP presidential debate.

“I am happy to tell you that I will be returning to the debate moderator’s chair alongside NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas and a name you also know the Washington Free Beacon’s Eliana Johnson, our pal," she said.

“The three of us together will take on these candidates and try to shed some light on what differentiates them," she added.

Kelly admitted that she is “excited” for the debate as she was “frustrated to watch some of these debates earlier” in the season.

The veteran journalist later praised NewsNation for landing the gig of hosting the fourth GOP debate. She said it is “trying to be in the middle” of the political spectrum.

Kelly said, “NewsNation is this up-and-coming news channel that is trying to be in the middle and it’s an ambitious undertaking, and it's very hard to do that in today’s news environment.”

“So you’ve got them and they haven’t planted a flag as righties or lefties and then you’ve got me and you’ve got Eliana, both of us are in sort of outside Legacy media lane and that’s exciting to me too," she added.

Kelly explained that she didn’t think of “rejoining the ranks of Presidential debate moderatos after leaving NBC”.

Sharing her enthusiasm with her followers, Kelly said, “I wanted to get back in there and I know to your point, I can ask these questions from the angle that is most interesting to the people who are going to make decisions about these guys."

Megyn Kelly’s announcement makes Internet happy

Social media users were delighted to learn that Kelly will be one of the co-moderators on the fourth GOP debate.

One exclaimed, “Finally! A debate worth watching!”

A second user said, “Megan is moderating. Message to all debate participants: Be afraid. Be very afraid. Megan is not going to put up with anything.”

A third user suggested, "Moderators for 12-6-23 should be Joe Rogan, Megyn Kelly, and Elon Musk. All 3 can broadcast on your own platforms for a larger audience.”

Another was relieved and wrote, “Well thank God! Real questions about real issues that real Americans care about!”

“This is the best news!! Thank you! I will definitely be putting that on my calendar to watch. Bring the real issues to light,” quipped another.

“Please try to create questions that they can’t answer with memorized sound bites. Make it different than the past debates… looking forward to having you there !!!” said one user.
